JA programs and volunteers teach kids how to manage their money and how to manage their lives. By connecting what kids learn in school to real-world applications, JA helps kids to value education and plan for their futures.

JA Academy is a three–year, after-school college and career-readiness initiative serving under-represented New York City high school students. The pilot program launched in spring 2012 with fourteen 10th grade students.

HIGH SCHOOL HEROES

High School Heroes are JA New York’s youth volunteers. The High School Heroes program teaches young people leadership and communication skills, and the value of community service. High School Heroes serve as role models by: • Delivering JA programs in hard to reach, outer-borough areas• Teaching financial literacy skills to elementary students in their communities• Contributing to the future economic stability of their communities
