Growing up I was never aware of the fact that I always paid attention to

clothing that was wore by other individuals, whether it was real life or on TV. I

would try so hard to re-create those outfits, with the clothing that I had.

Looking back on that I knew that there was something about clothing and

wardrobe that had caught my eye at such an early age. Growing up I was still

influenced by the way clothes were wore, and even though my mother didn’t

have a lot of money, I would beg her to let me have the clothes the other kids

would wear.

Going into high school I would realize that fashion was something I had

to learn more about, and it wasn’t until college that my passion truly was in the

fashion industry. Studying here at Columbia College Chicago, I have been so

greatly influenced by the students around me, and it brings me great joy to

hear other students and things they have accomplished why they are studying

as well. It gives me a sense of hope that what they have accomplished U can

accomplish as well, as long as I try hard enough.

Although I haven’t had the pleasure of getting much experience through

internships, and traveling abroad, I know that things happen in due time, and

that there is no need to rush through the journey to get through the

destination. I plan on making most of the rest of my time here at Columbia. As

a Senior I can say that from freshman year all the way to this point, I have

become more patient, my perception of some things changed, I take more pride

my work, and I’m not afraid to try new things.

CURRENT STATE Non-aggressive;

scared to take

opportunities

Too Sensitive Takes things too

seriously

MY DESIRED

STATE

I want to have the

mentality of a go-

getter.

Opportunities for

something that can

benefit my future

won’t come all the

time, so when the

time comes I will

be ready to go

forward with

anything that

comes my way.

I want to have a

stronger back-

bone, and truly

realize the kind of

world we live in.

Disappointment

will arise but I will

know how to

handle it better

Life is hard, but it’s

not that hard. I am

learn to ease up

and laugh more,

because I have so

many things to be

thankful and happy

about.

MY ACTION PLAN

(to reach my desired

state)

Do some soul-

searching to see

what it is that is

holding me back

from my true

potential.

Develop a stronger

sense of who I am

and that no one

can cause how I

feel about

anything.

Meditate on more

positive things and

smile more.

“Your present circumstances don't

determine where you can go; they merely

determine where you start.”

-Nido Qubein
