In order to recover, there are some additional Java Security settings that must be implemented.

Java Control Panel

2. ClickontheSettingstab.

5. Click on the Security tab.

3. Uncheck Keep temporary files on my computer.

4. Close the Temporary Files Settings window.

6. Click on the Edit Site List button.

7. Click on the Add button. You will see a red exclamation mark like above. As you add the trusted site, the exclamation mark will change to an unlocked lock.

8. Each time you click the Add button you will be prompted by a Security warning informing you of the risks. You must accept them by clicking the Continue button for the site to function properly.

9. Click the OK button within the Exception Site List window once all sites have been added.

3. Choose Java from the Plug-Ins on the left column.

4. Allow Always must be selected.

5. Click OK when prompted . Then click Done.

IMPORTANT

1. Open Safari and from the Safari menu choose preferences.

2. Click on the security tab.

Smart Review via Mac OS X (10.9.x - 10.10.x)Mac OS X 10.9.x and 10.10.x can be set up identically to Mac OS X 10.7.x and 10.8.x.

Or if you prefer to keep your settings per the default Mac App Store and identified developers, you can accept the Smart Review application within the Security & Privacy control panel. This is done per Smart Review session. For example, if you quit your Smart Review session and launch it again to proof a different job, you will need to do this process again.

Smart Review via Mac OS X (10.7.x - 10.8.x)Proof Check's online Java-based proofing application, Smart Review, requires additional changes be made to your System Preferences, Security & Privacy settings. Not doing so will keep the Smart Review application from launching.

1. Open the Apple System Preferences and launch the Security & Privacy control panel.

2. Unlock your control panel by clicking on the padlock and entering your Mac OS admin login and password.
