Jazz 91.9 WCLK, Atlanta’s Jazz Station, presented a grand concert of music and tributes with legendary George Benson and Vocalist Extraordinaire Dianne Reeves on May 9 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center. The elegant evening began with a VIP reception which was attended by some of Atlanta’s top movers and shakers. Following the VIP reception, a private Gala was held where Reeves serenaded dinner guests with a special show featuring songs like Better Days and Tango from her new album, Beautiful Life. Reeves brought the delighted crowd of more than 300 to a thunderous standing ovation. After the gala, George Benson headlined the signature WCLK benefit concert. Benson played songs that spanned his extensive repertoire, with trademark dance grooves, story telling and his unique sense of Jazz styles. The following are highlights from the evening:

Join Jazz 91.9 WCLK – The Jazz of the City - as we team up with the Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance for the Fifth Annual 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, June 28 at Grant Park Atlanta. The race registration is at 7:30 AM and the race starts at 8:30 AM. Immediately following the race there will be a wellness fair that includes free health screenings, vendors and services. The signature event highlights the importance of higher education by supporting the advancement of [Atlanta’s] youth through scholarships and programs that benefit them directly. Kim (Felder) Scott is one of the most sought after flutists in both the Classical and Jazz fields. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, she has performed across the country and abroad since 2000 in recitals, concerts, and with her flute and harp ensemble, Kimoni Duo, with Monica Hargrave, harp. Ms. Scott has also been featured as a soloist with professional combos and orchestras across the United States and South America. Currently, she is Chair of the Department of Music at the Alabama School of Fine Arts where she teaches flute.
