I n o u r s t u d y t w o c a s e s w e r e r e p o r t e d o nc y t o l o g y a s n o n - s p e c i f i c r e a c t i v e c h a n g e sa l o n e ( i n c l u d i n g P G L ) . H i s t o l o g i c a l e x a m i n a -t i o n s h o w e d t h e s e t o b e t u b e r c u l o s i s ( f a l s en e g a t i v e r a t e 1 2 . 5 % ) . The a s p i r a t e o f t h e f i r s tc a s e , w h i c h w a s p e r f o r m e d a t t h e e a r l y s t a g e so f t h e s t u d y , c o n t a i n e d i n s u f f i c i e n t m a t e r i a lf o r c a r r y i n g o u t s p e c i a l s t a i n s . The s e c o n da s p i r a t e p r o b a b l y r e p r e s e n t e d a s a m p l i n ge r r o r a s n o a c i d f a s t b a c i l l i w e r e s h o w n o nt h e Z i e h l - N e e l s e n s t a i n .
