St. John’s Preparatory School 72 Spring Street Danvers, Massachusetts 01923 Job Description: Computer Science Teacher The Computer Science Department offers a variety of courses including: Introduction to Algorithmic Thinking and Computational Technologies, 3D Graphics and CAD, Introduction to Programming using C++, Programming in Visual Basic, Programming with Java and Internet, Robotics, Introduction to XHTML and Web Design, Multimedia and Video Production and AP Computer Science A. A complete listing of Computer Science courses and their descriptions can be found at www.stjohnsprep.org/computerscience. Computer Science teachers at St. John’s Preparatory School teach five (5) classes and are required to complete a “duty” period during each semester. Prospective candidates should have the competency and passion to engage every student in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. Candidates should also have a desire to become an active and collegial member of an adult community of learners. All members of the faculty are expected to give witness to the mission of St. John’s, as well as to our identity as an inclusive, Catholic, Xaverian Brothers Sponsored School. In addition to classroom teaching responsibilities, St. John’s encourages all members of the faculty to be involved in the life of the school beyond the classroom. The school offers a wide range of co-curricular, intramural and interscholastic programs.
