integrated approach to the sustainable use

and enjoyment of the Severn Estuary”

Page 9: John Harrison - Sustainable Severn Forum 2015

• Incorporate strategies of Governments

(EU, UK & Welsh) and all SEP Partners

• Light touch but robust enough to be used

as limit test/ challenge proposals

• Recognise action by others to avoid

duplication

• Focused projects to fill gaps in evidence

and promote action.

Draft Principles Aim to :-

culture, heritage and natural resources.

4- Promote health and wellbeing in Sustainable

communities , resilient and adaptive to flood risk

and coastal erosion

Overview of 10 Draft Principles to Promote

Vision Aims

Page 11: John Harrison - Sustainable Severn Forum 2015

• Living with Environmental Limits

5- Protect , conserve , improve biodiversity

and cultural heritage to promote to develop

resilient ecosystems

6- Encourage renewable and sustainable

energy too facilitate action on Climate change

• Promoting Governance

7- Promote partnership working amongst all

interested parties to deliver highest standards

of management

8- Encourage integration of estuary wide

plans via cross sector/ boundary working

Overview of 10 Draft Principles to Promote

Vision Aims

Page 12: John Harrison - Sustainable Severn Forum 2015

• Using Sound Science responsibly

to establish baselines, monitor change and

trends , applying precautionary principle where

necessary.
