Downloading & Installing Citrix ReceiverFrom The MyCloud Web Portal

Assumptions: Citrix Receiver Client:

o The system does not have a pre-existing Citrix Receiver install. o The currently installed version of Citrix Receiver is unsupported and requires an upgrade

to the current supported version.o Citrix Receiver no longer functions as expected and requires a re-install/repair.

Browse to https://mycloud.jh.edu from your preferred web browser: Log in using your JHED ID and password. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required if outside

Once logged into the MyCloud site, click Detect Receiver:

Check the License Agreement box, then click Download:

When the download completes, click the drop down box next to the installation file in the browser window, and then click Open:

Some Windows security settings will activate User Access Control (UAC). In this instance, local administrative rights will be required to proceed. Click “Yes” to the UAC prompt to begin installation:

The installer is designed to be self-executing. You will see a command window pop-up as the installer is initiated.

Please be patient as this step may take several minutes to complete depending on your systems hardware specifications. Loading, Please Wait …

Once the installation is complete, the command window will exit automatically and you will be prompted to restart your PC.

You have the option to defer the restart for up to 12 hours, however Citrix Receiver will not work as expected until the system has been restarted.

TroubleshootingAlthough most installations will be similar to the steps outlined above, the process will vary slightly from system to system based on Windows and web browser security settings. Below are some tips for troubleshooting some known variations based on Windows/browser security settings:

Scenario 1:Windows Defender: After the download completes from the MyCloud Web Portal, the customer clicks “Open” next to the file, and Windows Defender pops a message window “Windows Protected Your PC”.

Don’t panic! Windows Defender is doing its job protecting you from unrecognized software being installed on your PC. In this instance, since you know Johns Hopkins is a trusted entity, you may proceed.

Click More Info, then click Run Anyway:

Scenario 2:Web Browser Security: Customer clicks the License Agreement box, then clicks Download, but the web browser pops up a security message:

Click Keep Dangerous File, then click Keep Anyway:

The download will complete, then click Show In Folder.

Double click the self-extracting file, and the installation will commence:

Scenario 3:Managed System Install: Customer attempts to install the application on a JHM managed PC, and receive the following error:
