Memorial Worship Service at Lippstadt

Please join us at a special Memorial Worship Service to be held at Lippstadt church on Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 pm. A Lippstadt Cemetery Association meeting will follow the service. All members of Friedens church are invited to participate.

Blood Drive

The Dorcas Women’s Fellowship is sponsoring a Red Cross blood drive on Friday, June 26th from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Please consider donating. The Red Cross is in desperate need to replenish our nation’s blood supply. See the flyer inside for details.

General Municipal Election

The 2020 General Municipal Election will be held on June 2 and Friedens will as usual serve as a polling station. We are asking that all poll workers and voters restrict their movements within the church to Fellowship Hall B and urge everyone to wear masks for your safety and the safety of those around you. Baby Bottle Campaign

This month, we will be participating in our 4th

Annual Baby Bottle Campaign. Your support for

the Pregnancy Options Center through this

campaign will help in their mission to provide

hope, help, and healing to those in our

community who face crisis pregnancy choices.

With the Covid-19 health crisis limiting their

ability to acquire donations through regular

means, POC is relying on campaigns like this to

help fund their important work.

Usually, you would take a baby bottle home and

return it filled with coins, cash or a check to be

donated to the Pregnancy Options Center here in

Warrenton. This time, we are asking that you

send a check directly to:

the memo line. If you already have a bottle,

please consider sending a check directly to POC

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)

It seems like such a long time since I’ve seen so many of you, my Friedens church family, due to

COVID-19 restrictions. There has been and continues to be uncertainty as to the risk to our health,

what are all the ways COVID spreads, if one gets infected and recovers, does one have antibodies

and can not contract COVID again? Will there be a vaccine and when?

There is uncertainty as to what activities we may be able to enjoy this summer or maybe even, next

week. When will we feel “safe” to return to church, worshipping in the sanctuary, meetings, small

groups, etc.?

In March when this all became a reality to us, our community and church, there was uncertainty as

to how it would affect Friedens. Would it affect us financially, and if so, how long? With this

bearing down on us, the Executive Council members met virtually and agreed there was the need to

pursue the PPP loan on behalf of Friedens UCC. Emails were sent to the council and the vote was

overwhelming approval to authorize application.

As a part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, Friedens received funds to

cover payroll for 8 weeks. As long as the funds are used for eligible payroll costs, this loan is

anticipated to be fully forgiven. At the end of the 8 weeks and with direction by the Small Business

Administration (SBA), the appropriate paperwork will be filed for loan forgiveness.
