It may be displayedno more than 30 days prior to an election andmust be removed the week following the election. Signs placed on BCA openspace will be removed. Brandermill Woman’s Club WelcomesThe Richmond Metro Zoo

From slithering anacondas to fluttering blue morpho butterflies, rainforests literally teemwith life. These ecosy stems are home to 80 percent of the world’s biodiv ersity . TheBrandermill Woman’s club welcomes zookeepers from the Richmond Metro Zoo to theirNov ember 20th meeting to discuss “Endangered Species in the Rainforest”. Not only willthey speak to the many issues threatening the animals, they plan to bring some of thezoo’s residents with them for the club’s enjoy ment.

The Brandermill Woman’s club meets the third Wednesday of each month fromSeptember through April at the Woodlake United Methodist Church, 15640 HamptonPark Driv e. There is a social meet and greet at 9:30 a.m. The business meeting from 10 to10:30 is followed by the featured speaker. All ladies are welcome. Residency inBrandermill is not a requirement to join. In addition to the monthly meeting, the organization sponsors ov er 15 activ ities for themembers with the goal to encourage friendships and social activ ities There is absolutelysomething for ev ery one, from Book Clubs, Cards, Day Trips, Cooking, Dominos, Mahjong,Quilting, Lunch Bunch and Walking. The purpose of the 43-y ear-old club has alway s been to promote a common interest inciv ic, cultural, educational and social welfare within the community . Last y ear theyraised funds for Safe Harbor and World U.P. Foundation. In addition, two scholarshipswere awarded to graduating high school seniors. Chesterfield County Updates

Chesterfield County Public Schools- Meeting Notice -

The Chesterfield County School Board will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. Oct. 29 in theCCPS Central Office Board Room, 9900 Krause Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832. On beingcalled to order, the School Board will adjourn immediately into closed session inaccordance with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act for the discussion andconsideration of personnel matters and student disciplinary matters. The Board will thenreconv ene in open session to certify the closed session and v ote on the matters discussedtherein. No other action will be taken, and no public business will be discussed.

County Response to Legionella

Chesterfield County Gov ernment is committed to the safety of our citizens, themaintenance of our facilities and transparency regarding our actions.

As part of our ongoing efforts to keep our citizens informed of regional Legionellabacteria concerns, a specialized webpage, County Response to Legionella, on our countywebsite was dev eloped and is currently liv e and being consistently updated. This webpage includes a detailed timeline of the county ’s response to positiv e test resultsfor the presence of Legionella bacteria within the county , an ov erv iew of our coolingtowers, maintenance information, maps of affected areas and more. Naturally occurring in lakes and streams, Legionella becomes a health concern when itbegins growing in human-made building water sy stems, such as showerheads, hot watertanks or cooling towers. In humans, Legionella can cause legionellosis, which includesLegionnaires’ disease and Pontiac fev er. To learn more about the disease, please v isitthe Centers for Disease Control and Prev ention website.

We understand that keeping our citizens informed of the dev eloping situation regardingLegionella in our region is v ital to easing public concern. As new information becomesav ailable, we will update the county 's specialized webpage.
