Dear QPS Bio-Kinetic Colleagues and Friends, As many of you undoubtedly know or may have heard our neighbors to the west were hit by a devastating tornado this past Sunday, May 22 nd . As of today, the death toll has reached 123 confirmed dead with many still missing. Because of the path of destruction the tornado left behind, many residents survived with only the clothing on their back and with the power outages, businesses destroyed, and no means of transportation, they are desperate for supplies. Even with and during the continued bad weather that resulted in 2 police officers being struck by lightning, rescue and relief efforts are still underway, and severe weather is forecasted, once again for this evening into tomorrow. Please help us help them by dropping off supplies at our offices Wednesday and Thursday between 8am and 5pm and Friday between 8am and noon at 1820A W. Mt. Vernon in Springfield, Missouri. We will have a truck on site to pick up supplies and deliver them to Joplin this Friday, May 27 th . Our local bank has set up an account for cash donations, in lieu of donated items, that will be used for supplies and the disaster relief efforts. Bio-Kinetic is donating its time, space, and a truck and Empire Bank is donating the account and wire expenses. This is to ensure that 100% of the cash and items donated will go directly to the Joplin, Missouri relief effort. Items needed for donation include: toiletries, nonperishable foods, clothes, shoes/socks, diapers and wipes, bedding and blankets, sanitizer and WATER!
