Guest of Book Fair 2014The JBF proudly announces that the 2014 ‘Guest of the Fair’ is Southern African author, painter and music composer, Zakes Mda. The ‘Guest’ is someone who reflects the aims and values of the Fair. Mda’s work includes 21 books - novels, plays and poetry – and his work has been translated into 20 languages.

Host Event @ JBF 2014 JBF publicly calls on civil society to participate in building a reading culture and to host an event at the Fair. The programme includes book launches, conversations with authors, workshops, films and exhibitions. This includes the use of drama, comics and other art forms to promote ‘the book’; and making your organisations research more accessible to the public.
