This portfolio is showcasing pieces of my undergraduate work. I

am a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder's

program of Environmental Design. Environmental Design is

about combining the practices of arcitecture, landscaping, urban

planning, and industrial design to create a more coprehensive

sustainable design.

Boulder, Colorado was an excelent place to study my major

since the town is very involoved in creating a more sustainable

lifestyle. From the green belt that was established in the 1960's,

to compost bins behind most homes today, Boulder is one of the

leading towns in the United States for sustainable living. My goal

is to build on the knowledge I’ve gained, changing the way

people live and interact with their environment.

design brief: Find a piece of of art orsculpture to take inspiration from, create a functional and ashethically pleasing hostel from your inspiration.

design concept: Inspired by objects with a sense of movement, I wanted to develop a design that visually blended into thelandscape. Developing my design on the curves and structural pattern of a leaf.

Design brief: Design an airport for Nanwalek and Port Gramham, Alaska. With 95% of the population unemployed, living o grant money, and subsistence; the design would need to be adjustable to the towns needs as well as be low cost to build and maintain.

design concept: Inspired by the communities living mostly o of subsistence, I wanted to design an airport that could be adjustableusing mostly on-site materials alone with passive solar incorporated into the design.

DURING THE WINTER AND SUMMER NIGHTSDOORS CAN BE PUT DOWN TO PROVIDE EXTRA INSULATION.

SPRINGS ON THE INTERIOR SECTION OF THE DOORS PROVIDE THE EXTRA FORCE NEEDED TO PUSH THE DOORS AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS WHILE CLOSING.

TWO CHAINS LIFT EACH SEPERATE FLAP UP, WHILE LIFTING THE SOLID PORTION OF THE DOOR UPWARD TO MATCH THE ANGLE OF THE ROOF.

SOLAR LIGHT ENTERS THROUGH CURTAIN WALLS AND IS ABSORBED INTO DARK STONE TILE DURING THE DAY AND THEN IS REALEASED SLOWLY THROUGH OUT THE NIGHT.

design concept: Building on the base of my sunglasses designs in a previous 3d modeling class, I challenged myself into fabricating my design. Starting with 3/32” thick pieces of walnut and oak, I cut out theshape of the frame and sides with dierent sized spaces for the lenses. I studied dierent face shapes and extracted lenses from used sunglasses. With CNC machine built a mold to curve the pieces to the right shape.

Design brief: Design a textile and wallpaper with a cohesive theme.

Design Concept: The Anatomy of Movement takes inspiration from the stars and atoms, I wanted to explore movement within a two dimesional image. Textile design wastaken as an extra course in Denmark, it was the rst course that showed me there are many dierent scales of design.
