New Library on Fort Myers Campus Opening Soon...
The Fort Myers Campus will soon welcome the latest
addition to an ever-growing Hodges University. The new
library is set to open its doors to students in late July. This
new facility which is located on the first floor of the H
Building now presides over the same space they had before,
but has added the space previously occupied by AAS,
Student Development, Testing, and the Computer Lab. This
additional square footage and redesign of this entire space
now provides students with 53 computers, all with
touchscreen and keyboard capabilities; and 20 study rooms
that will be available by reservation. Many more features
will be unveiled when the doors are opened later this month.
Keep your eye out for an official opening very soon!

The Hodges University student is a unique student. Balancing school,
work, life, and familial responsibilities can be hard enough…
Opportunities for Professional Development can be very important and
crucial to the growth of a student, but there are so many times when it’s
just not convenient, or geographically possible to attend. That is no
longer an obstacle with Blackboard Collaborate. With the help from
the Office of Distance Education, Student Development has successfully
hosted a variety of workshops and presentations that can be viewed
LIVE with interactive technology that allows the student to participate
with the session. In addition, all of these sessions will be recorded so
you have an opportunity to view them at your convenience if being
there live is not an option.
“There has always been a concern from students that want to join our
sessions, but they just can’t because of the time slot we’re allotted, or they
happen to be a Learning Site or Distance Education student. With this
new platform, it provides that opportunity that previously did not exist,
and from our department, we couldn’t be happier with how this can help
our students and the additional opportunities it presents.”
-Molly Grubbs, Career Development Coordinator-Fort Myers Campus

Healthcare is on everyone's mind--not just because of the
recent Supreme Court decision, but because it is such an
important part of everyone's life. Healthcare fraud and abuse
adds to the cost of healthcare--and it isn't easy to find. The
U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has an entire
department--the Office of the Inspector General (OIG)--just to
look at fraud and abuse in healthcare. On Wednesday, July 25,
2012, Special Agent Rafael Chocron from the OIG offices in
Tampa will be here to speak to faculty and staff on abuse and
fraud in healthcare. This event will start at 4:30p.m. and run
until 5:45p.m. The event will be held in Rm. 364 (Kleist
Community Room) in the H Building. You can also view this
presentation LIVE through Blackboard Collaborate on the
Naples Campus or if you’re unable to make it to either campus,
you can view this live on your personal computer as well. The
room in Naples to view this presentation is ST141, and you can
pre-register to view this presentation online by RSVP’ing to:
