Decisions for Christ July 2017 Dear Church Family, Recently in the course of working on a Bible study I was confronted with a basic, yet profound question. The question was “What is the church?” Very simply, how would I define or describe the church. Honestly, what I thought would be a clear and easy answer required me to really consider the question. After several days of thought and considering what God says about His church, I came to this description in the book of 1 Timothy. Paul writes “…the church of the living God, the pillar and support of the truth.” Friends – we exist as a church to hold up and display the truth of God. That means in all things, in all areas, in every activity we are to be beacons of God’s Word. My prayer is that the influence and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church will al- ways point to what God has said in His Word. In that, may many find Jesus and may we grow in His knowledge. Have a great July! God bless – See You Sunday, Bro. Decisions for Christ

July 2017

Dear Church Family,

Recently in the course of working on a Bible study I was confronted with a

basic, yet profound question. The question was “What is the church?” Very simply,

how would I define or describe the church. Honestly, what I thought would be a

clear and easy answer required me to really consider the question.

After several days of thought and considering what God says about His church,

I came to this description in the book of 1 Timothy. Paul writes “…the church of the

living God, the pillar and support of the truth.” Friends – we exist as a church to

hold up and display the truth of God. That means in all things, in all areas, in every

activity we are to be beacons of God’s Word.

My prayer is that the influence and ministry of Calvary Baptist Church will al-

ways point to what God has said in His Word. In that, may many find Jesus and may

we grow in His knowledge. Have a great July! God bless –

Colossians 2:7

Greetings church family,

What an awesome month we had in June! I have to

remind myself not to take for granted the frequent deci-

sions being made for Christ in our church. I have the privi-

lege of getting to see God continually working in the lives of

our young people.

Recently, a few of our students attended Super Sum-

mer Camp at Dallas Baptist University. I was excited to see

them challenged and encouraged through the proclama-

tion of God’s Word. God is always faithful.

I’d like to say thanks to those who contributed to our

enchilada fundraiser. Many of you have also contributed to our summer camps in oth-

er ways and we are very grateful for you as well. There is still plenty of time left if you

are interested in helping a student attend camp.

Our next summer camp will be Student Life Camp in Glorieta, NM on July 20-

24. Please continue to keep our youth in your prayers!

God Bless,

Marco

Calvary Baptist Church Newsletter

Just wanted to shout out a big THANK YOU to all of our teachers in our

Faith Builders program on Wednesday nights! These teachers put a lot of pray-

er, time, and effort into preparing their lessons each week - from attending meet-

ings, to studying, to planning out an age-appropriate way to teach their class, to

getting their supplies ready, to actually teaching - there is so much done behind

the scenes to make each week so wonderful! Our church is blessed with people

who understand the value of building a foundation of faith for our children to

stand on as they get older, and our teachers have committed to serving to help

that happen! If you happen to see one of these amazing people, give them a hug

and tell them how appreciated they are, and please continue to pray for them!
