Women’s Club Newsletter Notes from the President (Sharon Foy)
Hi Ladies, Welcome to the July Edition of your newsletter!
July… Independence Day, parades, firecrackers, watermelon,
ice cream, hot dogs just to name a few of my favorite things.
July…A time to reflect (it’s too hot to do much else). I long for
those summer days that just seem to go on forever. I remem-
ber which flowers were blooming, the smell of fresh mowed grass and A&W
root beer in a frosted mug.
Aren’t we fortunate to live in this great country where we are free to enjoy the
simple things in life?
Speaking of reflection, remember our Ladies’ Afternoon Tea, August 29. So
step back in time, get out of the heat and enjoy a summer afternoon, an event
just for us members to enjoy!
Meanwhile, all of your committees are hard at work as you will see in the fol-
lowing articles. Socials, coffees, charity events and more!
Enjoy your summer, try to stay cool and take time to appreciate the simple
things!
Sharon
President Elect (Mary Ornberg)
I want everyone to know that I'm so looking forward to serving as President of the 2018 Women's Club. There are many wonderfully creative women in our club and I look forward to being able to tap into that wealth of talent. Our club has had many entertaining and informative guests at our monthly luncheons and it will be my honor to continue this and our many other traditions. I plan on next year being a “fun” year.
We Are Halfway Through the Year and It’s Time
to Start Thinking About Our 2018 Board!

Community Relations (Jan Utzman)
The Community Relations Committee Members Continue Their Work with Their Ongoing Projects!
Efforts are being coordinated by reaching out to the Service Committee and assisting them with the Friends of the Family “Back
to School” backpacks and school supplies.
The final group of snack packs were assembled and delivered to Friends of the Family for their summer kid’s programs.
The Community Ambassadors continue reaching out to people. Many organizations take a summer break so things are slow.
As a community outreach initiative, we are also involved in organizing the upcoming Ladies’ Afternoon Tea for the Women's
Club members’ enjoyment. It will be held Tuesday, August 29. Fifty Women’s Club members are actively working to decorate 20
spectacular tables for everyone’s enjoyment at the Tea.

Programs (Joyce Frey)
Robson Ranch Women’s Club Program Committee is very excited and proud to be presenting two very well-known women in both the August and September luncheon meetings. In August, we are looking forward to a presentation by the well-known Channel 5 co-anchor, Deborah Ferguson, who many of us wake up with as we watch NBC 5 Weekday. Deborah will present highlights of her career as she fol-lowed her lifelong dream of becoming a reporter. Deborah has been honored for Outstanding News Anchor as well as for her charity work empowering girls through education to pursue a career in Journalism.
In September, we are thrilled to present #1 New York Times and USA Today best-selling author, and Texas native, Sandra Brown, who has published nearly 70 novels and had more than 50 New York Times bestsellers.
[3] Ms.
Brown has also published works under the pen names of Rachel Ryan, Laura Jordan, and Erin St. Claire. Her nov-el French Silk was made into a movie. Her newest book, Seeing Red, another sexy, suspenseful thriller will be pub-
lished in Aug-2017. Barnes and Noble Book /sellers will be present at the September luncheon with a number of reader favorites as well as the new book.
This will be a very popular program. Seating will be on a “first come—first serve” basis. At the August 7
luncheon, you may drop your check in the “Blue Box” . No early checks will be accepted!

Sunshine (Mary Ann Carroll)
Ways and Means Update
I send out approximately 15 cards a month. I send them out for illness and accidents as well as
when I learn of the loss of a loved one. I also send out repeat cards if someone is experiencing a
long-term situation.
I am so happy when I hear that our cards, expressing our concern and that our thoughts, have
made the day for someone in our community.
Please look for the pink sign up sheet on your table. Write the name of the person who is in
need of words of Sunshine while experiencing an illness, or in recovery or perhaps
encouragement for the loss of a loved one.
I look forward to a chance to meet you in August.

Luncheon Coordinator (Joan Krause)
I hope everyone took note of the Gmail that was sent out referring to payment of the luncheons.
As our community grows, so does the Women’s Club. A Gmail was sent out earlier referring to paying for lunches ahead of time. For example, in July, paying for August, September and October luncheons. In all fairness to others, we go month to month and we cannot accept reservations for future lunches other than the luncheon immediately following the current month. This gives everyone a “first come, first serve” advantage. The Gmail detailed the following information:
Because of bookkeeping purposes, we can only accept your check for the upcoming month.
For example, at the August 7 Luncheon, you may put your check in the “Blue Box” for ONLY the September luncheon. After the August luncheon you may place your check for the September
luncheon in the mailbox at the Sports Center’s Women’s Lounge, until the cutoff date.
It is our standard procedure to accept your luncheon check for the upcoming month only.
I hear good things about our lunches. My hat goes off to our Chef Aubrey and staff. They do an outstanding job of serving wonderful luncheon cuisine along with the Alternative Meal options every month.
Reminder...we reserve 2 tables for those ladies who are new. We were all new at one time and we don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable. Greeters are available to escort new members to the reserved tables.
If you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or 262-0112.
Welcome (BJ Watson)
Welcome to All the Lovely Ladies of Robson Ranch !
The Robson Ranch Women’s Club is an excellent way for women to get together, to enjoy each other’s company, have a monthly luncheon with entertainment, and contribute to our community.
There are so many new ladies arriving at Robson Ranch each week! We mail a welcome letter to each new resident with valuable information about the club and our luncheons. We try to reach as many ladies as we can to let them know they are welcome at the Women's Club.
We would like to encourage everyone who has a new neighbor to invite them to a luncheon so they can meet a wonderful group of delightful ladies in our community.
