Henry Barthes is a substitute teacher by choice to avoid any emotional connections with either his students or colleagues. Grappling with a troubled past, Henry finds himself at a public school where an apathetic student body has created a frustrated, burned-out administration. Inadvertently becoming a role model to his students, Henry finds that he’s not alone in his struggle to find beauty in a seemingly cruel and loveless world.

After the death of his brother, Jack is still having a hard time dealing with his loss. Iris, one of his closest friends suggests Jack visit her family’s cottage and take some time to come to terms with his grief. When he arrives he discovers it’s occupied by Iris’ sister Hannah and she and Jack discuss their heartache and end up in bed together. When Iris arrives, Jack is desperate to keep her from learning what happened and Hannah senses his feelings for Iris aren’t as platonic as he cares to admit.

LOL is a romantic drama about a high-school teenager, Lola, who faces a year of big changes in every area of her life, from friendships and family to romance and love. When Lola’s mom, “accidentally” reads her daughter’s racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown.

The opening film from this year’s Cannes Film Festival tells the story of two twelve-year-olds in a small coastal town who decide to run away together. Winner of best documentary at this year’s Academy Awards, Undefeated follows the Manassas Tigers football team, a severely underfunded and underprivileged football team, who were even hired out as a practice team for more successful schools, as they reverse their fortunes, thanks to their coach, Bill Courtney.

Rachel is a young teenager from a Mormon family in Utah. On her 15th birthday, she discovers a forbidden cassette tape with rock music on it. Three months later, Rachel is pregnant and claims to have had an immaculate conception from listening to the music. Her parents arrange a marriage for Rachel, but Rachel runs away to search for the man who sings on the cassette tape, thinking he has something to do with her mysterious pregnancy.

Screenings start at 10.30am each Wednesday and tickets are priced at £1.50 or free to any baby under 12 months.
