3D LEVEL MEASUREMENT OF COAL AND FLY ASHBinMaster’s 3DLevelScanner measures the level of coal and fl y ash in bins, silos, and hoppers. Acoustics-based technology penetrates dust and requires minimal maintenance and no air purge. One or more sensors continuously measure and map multiple points on irregular material surfaces to ensure high volume accuracy. Optional 3D visualization of bin contents shows buildup and location of high and low spots. Detects fl y ash levels in ESP hoppers to optimize emptying cycles and ensure long plate life. MultiVision software allows you to view and manage inventory for all your vessels from a PC on a single screen.

Half-time report is positiveYesterday at noon wasthe half-time mark for
Achema, and the mood at theInterim Press Conference wasvery upbeat. Dr.Michael Thie-mann, Chairman of the Ache-ma Committee and ThyssenKrupp Uhde, Dr. ThomasScheuring, CEO of Dechema, and Dr. Kurt Wagemann, Ex-ecutive Director of Dechema(see picture f.l.t.r.) were all inagreement that the main goalsof the event were being met. “Ican assume I am one of thehappiest people here thismorning,” said Scheuring, re-ferring to the number and ori-gin of the exhibitors. “It is re-ally the most internationalAchema we have ever seen.”Meanwhile, the quality and
engagement of visitors is alsoremarkable. “More than onethird are coming as process en-gineers,” Thiemann said. And,82% of visitors say the event is
either good or very good. Infact, on Tuesday, it was abso-lutely full, and visitors werefighting to get into some of theconference rooms, he added.
Interest in congress sessionsis highest in the energy topic,Wagemann announced, addingthat the BioBasedWorld eventand sessions on making use of
waste products, such as ash, have also been popular. Otherhigh-interest topics includeheat exchangers and bionicmanufacturing. rm
At the half-way mark, Achema 2012 organizers are very pleased with the turnout.
