North Brookfield Savings Bank has made a difference in the communities it serves. That is why NBSB has announced their Feed a Camper at Camp Putnam fundraiser will return once again.

During the months of May and June, the bank asked their communities to join with them to help feed campers. The New Braintree area camp provides a true camping experience for children and is affordable for all families regardless of income.

North Brookfield Savings Bank has launched the fundraiser with a $1,000 donation. With a total fundraising goal of $1,500, NBSB is inviting community members, customers and bank employees to raise the remaining $500 during June at any branch location. Progress charts will be displayed in the branches so advancement towards the goal can easily be tracked.

Want to know how you can donate? It’s simple. Anyone can make their donation into the collection jars displayed along the teller line at any North Brookfield Savings Bank branch location, with branches conveniently located in North Brookfield, East Brookfield, West Brookfield, Ware, Belchertown, Palmer and Three Rivers. In addition, NBSB employees will be able to donate $5 to participate in designated Jean Days through our May and June.

Camp Putnam, which spends nearly $40,000 on food per summer, offers campers tasty yet healthy homecooked and “kidfriendly” meals such as homemade mac and cheese, ta

cos, Shepherd’s pie, fresh fruits and veggies, pancakes, French toast and more in a familystyle atmosphere.

“We are again so grateful to the customers, employees and leadership of NBSB for taking such an active role in supporting our community as a whole and our work at Camp Putnam specifically,” said Putnam Camp Executive Director Todd Stewart. “Our longstanding efforts to provide our campers fresh, delicious and healthy meals in a familystyle atmosphere is a vital part of the ‘Care and Share’ mantra so central to our mission.  Meals at Camp Putnam resemble the largest, happiest family gathering one

could ever imagine! The generosity of NBSB will provide much needed funding to offset the exorbitant costs of feeding hundreds of children in this manner each summer.”

“Camp Putnam is a place where children are able to have an adventure, make friends, experience personal growth and have healthy fun. It is an organization that we are proud to support,” said Donna  Boulanger, North Brookfield Savings Bank President and CEO.  “Together as a community, we hope to reach our goal, just like we did last year, allowing kids at Camp Putnam to enjoy the wellrounded meals they deserve.”

In 2016, NBSB President and CEO Donna L. Boulanger and NBSB Trustee Betsy Cuddy presented a $2,374 check to Camp Putnam Executive Di-rector Todd Stewart from the NBSB “Feed a Camper at Camp Putnam” fundraiser.

WARE —  Country Bank’s Employee Charitable Giving program recently donated more than $40,000 to two great causes near and dear to their staff.

The giving program raised more than $30,000 to support the Jimmy Fund in April. It was a recordbreaking year for the Country Bank team as they exceeded their record in fundraising and also took first place in the team challenge. Eric Devine, Bonnie TrudeauWood and Jeremy Toussaint were also selected as the Most Valuable Coaches for the Jimmy Fund for 2017.

Employees donated raffle baskets, paid to wear jeans on casual Fridays and joined the online fund raising team to reach this level of support, along with a matching donation from Country Bank.

“I am in awe of the commitment from the team at Country Bank and their support of this great charity year after year,” said TrudeauWood, chairwoman of the Employee Charitable Giving program. “We are very proud to be the coaches for this team and know that our

efforts make a difference. We really hit a grand slam this year!”

The Easter Seals “Walk with Me” program held at Elm Park on May 13, 2017 received a $10,000 donation from the ECG program. A whoopie pie auction was a big hit in the fundraising efforts this year. Denise Walker, senior vice president of retail lending donated a batch of whoopie pies to the highest bidder which raised $3,102. Additional donations came from casual Fridays, direct donations from the staff and Country Bank’s matching program along with being a walk sponsor.

“As a proud supporter of Easter Seals, I am so grateful that our staff supports such exceptional organizations,” said Alison Shilinsky, senior vice president of human resources. “While attending the Easter Seals ‘Walk with Me’ event on May 13, we were fortunate to have witnessed the impact Easter Seals has on the Worcester community and on the individuals who benefit from their services.”
