“MAD SCIENCE” CampsPlunge into some science fun with the investigation of sinking

and floating! Campers discover and define buoyancy and surface tension. We will test capacity of vessels of various shapes, sizes, and materials to arrive at an understanding of

what makes a good boat. The class concludes with a cargo contest. Your master builder designs and constructs boats to see whose can carry the most cargo – without sinking!

The little mad scientists really enjoy all the experiments in this fun-filled class! Little scientists will test various substances as they learn the scientific process. They make “Ghost Crystals” that can absorb many times their own weight. Have you ever made and held self-siphoning gel? Would you like to make your own ball? Would you like to turn a solid into water and back to a solid again? The lab setting adds fun to the experiments they get to do in a lab setting.
