reetings Compatriots and Friends,he spring months are coming to an end soon and summer will be here before we know it. Tvents of 150th Sesquicentennial are now in full swing. I've taken part in a few of these eve others have also. There will be a lot more events over the next few weeks with the "150th

EVEN DAYS BATTLES. Please come and bring your children and grandchildren out to the

pecial events to learn of the history of our city & area.ease, don't forget June 2nd. It will be a very big & exciting day! First, it will be a day to Hour President, Jefferson Davis. Secondly, it will be a time to Honor the Bravery and Couragene Pvt. Lawrence Berry, of the 3rd Co. Washington Artillery of New Orleans. Pvt. Berry wilceive a Confederate Medal of Honor from the Sons of Confederate Veterans, whichommander in Chief Givens will be on hand to present. This is made possible through a lot ork and dedication from Mike Thomas, also assists from John Henry Taylor. Come Januar013, the Medal will be handed over to the Petersburg Museums and will be put on display e visitors center at Blandford Cemetery in the spring. There will be an opening reception oe display and exhibit opened to all. Details to be announced.

ompatriot John Henry Taylor has had the Medal of Honor for Private Lawrence Berry framed. The cost tomp was $622.49. $200.00 of this has been covered by donation. Adjutant Emeritus, Mike Thomas hasovided a poster for the event. The medal will be presented at the President Jefferson Davis Memorialeremony at Hollywood Cemetery on June 2nd at 9:00 am.
