In buildings that areopen to the public, clearidentification is neces-sary to enable visitors tofind their way around.Signs that provide direc-tions and informationare however also a use-ful aid in office buildings,

in large hotel complexesor clinics that cover awide area. This is parti-cularly the case whenthe information can alsobe read in the dark.The LED lighting techno-logy from JUNG createsthe prerequisite for aprogressive orientationoption which meets allrequirements. Amongthe essential benefits ofthe system is its modular

structure which makes iteasy to install. The centralelement is the powersupply which can be con-nected to 230 V or 24 V.The light signals withtheir respective framesare simply clipped ontothis performance unit.

Due to the integration inthe LS switch design, theunified appearance ofthe interior architecturalconcept is retained andthe user will be convincedby yet another factor.The signals can be repla-ced at any time withoutany problems. Due to thishigh level of flexibility,the identification of thebuilding can be adaptedto suit changes of use.

Wherever the new LEDlight signals are used,attention is immediatelydrawn to them. This isdue firstly to the strikingbacklighting which isavailable in the two vari-ants blue and white –depending on the con-nection to the centralunit: the white LEDs arepowered for the L and Nmains connection; for L’and N, however the bluelighting is activated.

A new version is equip-ped with a 3-pole DIP-switch which enablesthe selection of 7 diffe-rent colours (red, blue,green, yellow, bright-blue, purple and white).

The light signals are suit-able for continuous opera-tion without any restric-tions. The cold light usedguarantees that the ele-ments hardly produce anyheat. This is the reasonwhy the LED system hassuch a long service life –yet with the minimumpower consumption.A transparent DIN A4 foilcan be used for individuallabelling of the signals. Aconventional laser printer

is sufficient attachingtext or symbols ontothe foil. After cutting itto size, it is inserted intothe device from aboveand can be replaced justas easily when required.

With the help of a special‘traffic light’ function, theLED light signal becomesan efficient control andinformation element, whichis required for example inwaiting rooms of doctor’spractices, hospital rooms orfor room service in hotels.The traffic light version isconceived as a two-part dis-play which is backlit withred at the top and greenat the bottom. Each of thetwo fields can be controlled

separately as required via a2-gang switch so that peo-ple who are standing out-side the door know exactlywhether they may enter orwhether they need to wait.

The information sign is aparticularly interestingproduct from the LEDrange. Due to its self-illuminating label, it isprimarily suitable fororientation in buildings.In these examples shownhere, the info sign consistof a centre plate with a 71x 71 mm or a 71 x 142 mmsheet of plexiglass inserted.

JUNG offers a professionallabelling service for thistype of light signal whichcan be ordered by post orcalled up via the Internet.The appropriate softwareis available with a form forentering the required textor symbols. The signs arethen labelled according tothe template and suppliedto the customer as a com-plete unit.

Due to the modular principle, the installation is carried out very quickly. Simply connect the performance unit to230 V or 24 V and clip onto the selected frame with the LED signal. It is also possible to replace the light signalsat a later date without any problems. A small label can be exchanged for a larger one in the blink of an eye.

A wrong step in the darkcan have fatal conse-quences. The problemcan be solved elegantlywith the LED light signal.Designed as an orienta-tion light, it indicates anysources of danger ingood time. Steps or darkcorridors are identifiedwithout glare by a speciallight outlet at the bot-tom. This enables reliableorientation without risks.
