Assignment #1 – Explore Wiki – then Break

Find a Lesson For Learning or Performance Task that you would use in your classroom.

Share out the standards associated and why you would use the task.

Standards for Mathematical Practice

Activity:

Standards for Mathematical Practice MATCH UP

21st Century Skills

Turn and talk – What comes to mind when you hear “21st century skills”?

Above and Beyond… any more 21st century

skills come to mind now?

Assignment #2 – Your Turn for P21

Click Here – Review pages 22 – 29 Lesson Starters by Grade Level Examples from P21

Using the same format as the Lesson Starters seen above, Create your own P21 Lesson/Activity for your grade level (individually or in partners/teams). Your activity/lesson should be complete and not just a starter.

Email to [email protected] when finished.

What does 21st century look like in elementary?

Assignment #3 – Turn Fluff into RIGOR

Find a math problem online (or make up your own) that is not rigorous and only requires basic mathematics skills.

Make it rigorous… integrate P21 and/or Mathematical Practices.

Look ahead at other examples of rigorous problems if necessary.

Take time…

Take the rest of your time to create your own rigorous problems integrating P21 Framework, Mathematical Practices, and the content you teach.
