‘Children grow into the intellectual life around them.’ - Lev Vygotzky
Bee, Bee Bumble Bee Two weeks ago we watched a YouTube video on bees. The children
were interested in how the bees all have jobs to do and how they
work together to produce honey. Mrs Grinberg’s mother Brenda
came in to share her knowledge on bees. Brenda is a beekeeper and
produces honey and other products. It was amazing to hear how
much information the children could recall from the video we
watched earlier.
7th September 2017
Elsie There’s only one Queen bee.
Sophia Bees vomit the honey out to each
other. Then to another and another.
Xander The bees show the other bees where
to get the nectar. They do a dance so
they know where to go. The faster
they wriggle the longer away it is.
Liam The bees flutter their wings really
fast. That’s what makes the buzzing
sound.
Noah We got lollypops.
Outcome 2: Children are
connected to and contribute
to their world
