Greetings!

The social sciences are often underrated. The College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (Kolehiyo ng Agham Panlipunan at Pilosopiya) of UP Diliman, like many other institutions of the social sciences, has brought forth many of the brilliant minds who have shaped the country. In spite of this, there remains a prevailing notion that these degree programs are useless unless one uses them as a stepping-stone to medicine or to law.

We want to change that mentality. We want to give the social VFLHQFHV WKH UHFRJQLWLRQ WKH\ GHVHUYH $QG VR IRU WKH YHU\ ÀUVW WLPHwe bring you the KAPP Cup, an interdisciplinary short lecture series and tournament for high school students.

Through the lectures, we aim to show that the social sciences can be interesting, practical, meaningful and relevant to the individual and the country, as well as all the levels of society in between. Through the tournament, we want to provide an opportunity for the youth to internalize the principles of the social sciences they have learned as they continue GHYHORSLQJWKHLUVNLOOVLQYDULRXVÀHOGVVXFKDVVSHHFKDQGZULWLQJ

Maligayang pagbati!

Inaasahan naming makita kayo doon!
