Kate PutnamSupporting Modern Day Woman

Kate Putnam is a New Hampshire citizen who has always been aware of her privilege in being brought up in a forward thinking society, where women are finally being valued. Her father brought her sister and her up with strong values, and taught them from a young age the importance of exercising their right to vote. Alice Paul is one of her greatest inspirations, as one of the many female leaders who passionately campaigned for female suffrage.

Kate Putnam’s home state of New Hampshire has a strong history in politics for women. With a history of volunteerism, there have been more females in political positions there than in most other states and since 1975 over a quarter of state legislature has been made up by females. In 2008 for the first time in the history of any state in the country, the majority of the seats in the New Hampshire Senate were held by women.

Building strong connections and being involved in communities both professionally and socially has been a passion of hers, and in every endeavor she has sought inspiration from females who have paved the way for her. Kate Putnam is a multi talented woman, presentation on slideshare is an example of this, and hopes to inspire other females in New Hampshire and beyond to also contribute to making a difference.
