Today marks another milestone in the history of ASHTEC. A new beginning as well as an end from a deep slumber of complacency.

A spectacular event was held in ASHTEC this last 3rd day of September 2010, with participation of Corporate Managers, Business Owners, NGO’s, and partner churches.

Partner’s Day 2010 with the theme, “Upgrading skills, improving lives…. ASHTEC goes entrepreneurial” started with the opening prayer followed by the singing of the national anthem by the ASHTEC Ensemble choir. Afterwards, Pastor Hector Ana, who is currently the Director of AMG Philippines, led the opening remarks for the program. Afterwards, Mr. Francisco Pascual Jr., the president of the school, detailed the new direction of the school. Nowadays, ASHTEC is far different from the yesteryears, getting bigger and better in terms of getting more partnership. Further information, the in-stitution is offering a lot of courses such as the two year Electronics and Communication Technology whereby the student is well trained to be more competitive enough in the home of electronics and also offering is the two year course in Information and Communication Technology in which the students will be equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to reach the qualifications to be part of the IT industry and also a one year course in welding technology unlike previous years, it only offered six months to everyone to enhance their skills in the field of blue collar job in the construc-

tion industry. A few year later, the school added three year diploma course in Entrepreneurship wherein the students will gain great skills in handling a business enterprises. Meanwhile, a short video clip of a three person gave their testimonies whose now successful alumni proving that without the grace of God with the help of AMG Skilled Hands, they would not attain the peak of the victory. They were Joan Sulit, an IT graduate now a regular employer of Lexmark research center in Cebu City; Mayet Suarez – Espinola, an IT graduate also and now she’s in Dubai A.A.E.; and Bernard Velasquez graduate in Welding Technology he is working as Boat Fitter in Benhur Shipping. As time goes on, the ASHTEC Ensemble rendered a wonderful song. Then, since Ms. Ruth Callanta was not over on that moment because she is suffering an ailment, the program continued and the managers of selected of companies gave an encour-agement, “Rag to Riches” stories. They were Mr. Renato T. Reyes from RTR Enterprises; Mr. Manuel Sy Peng, the Big Boss of Wellmade Company that produces speed detergent bars and powders and also committed in helping the sponsored student. Mr. Peng announced that they will continue to support and fund ASHTEC as long as it still exists. Afterwards, the school acknowl-edged the new partners: they were AICHI Forging Co. of Asia, Inc., the leading of steel and forging and dies, and vacuum head treatment products given to Mitsubishi, Toyota and vehicles for the Philippines and overseas; the Hope of Glory, passionately worship God in success-ful servant to Jesus through the holistic ministries;

It was already Christmas holiday. Students were already sent home for Christmas vacation but it did not hinder Anthony Cris Besana, a 2nd year

Electronics and Communication Technology stu-dent to represent the school to the competition of Cell Phone Repair in TESDA Guiguinto Branch last December 10, 2010 with support from Mr. Dan Verginiza and three other Electronic instructors. There were four representatives, each from differ-ent schools, who competed. According to Besana, he did not expect that he would be able to go through the competition with flying colors as he had three other competitors who were really good, plus the fact that the task given to them was not

easy. Despite that, he did his best and because of that, he bested out his contenders and brought pride and honor to AMG by coming in second place in the competition, in which ATEC, another school, won the first place. Joining in competitions like this gives pride in students that they are part of ASHTEC which in turn, prides itself in producing competitive students like Besana.

Part 1: The Contest ASHTEC has lots of artistic students who are gifted in the field of drawing and designing. Last July 28, 2010, they were all gathered at the 2nd Floor of the Canteen for the Poster and Slogan-Making Contest which was a part of the Nutrition Month celebration. It started at 7:30 in the evening. Each section should have 2 representatives. They were free to draw anything they wanted but should be relevant to the event’s theme “Sa Pagkaing Wasto at Tama, Timbang ni Ate at Kuya ang Katapat” which would last only for two hours, meaning until 9:30 pm only. SSD (Support Service Department) organized the event headed by the school nurse, Mrs. Blesilda Capalad and her husband Mr. Rene Capalad. Pre-sent during the competition were Mrs. Evangeline Querido, SSD Head; Mrs. Salvacion Cawayan, Can-teen Supervisor with her 3 cooks; and other ASHTEC staff.

The awarding of winners was held in same venue during the next night same time. The panel of judges was composed of three persons; two from the SSD and one from the EEI Staff. Before they gave the awards, each pair of contestants was a given a chance to take pictures together with their artworks and ASHTEC staff. The following were the names who won the competition:

The Student Council (SC) Adviser, Ms. Cristina Peralta, officially and publicly announced the newly elected Student Councils from Executive Head down to representatives and the club ambas-sadors last August 16, 2010 at the 2nd floor can-teen, Tuesday night. Present during the oath-taking ceremony were Mr. Francisco Pascual, the school president; Mr. Richard Padilla, JBS Manager; Mr. Eric Quitalig, TVET Manager and his wife, Mrs. Sheryll Quitalig, O-I-C; club advisers; and other staff: teaching and non-teaching. Mr. Jefferson Ebrada, 2009-2010 SC Ex-ecutive Head, was the guest speaker that night. He encouraged the new sets of officers to look for-ward in the needs of the school and their fellow students. He added that leadership comes with a great responsibility and as a leader you are not ahead instead, you are only the head to lead the team for the benefit of everybody. The school president delivered a short message about the servant leadership of Jesus Christ from the Scripture of Philippians 2:1-10. Jesus Christ from being God humbled himself to take the position of a slave man. Just like a leader you must know to be empathetic to deal with the situation of your team.

The club ambassadors to SC received their pins from their club advisers as a symbol of ac-cepting responsibilities and they were: Emmanuel Agnilla III, SLAM Club Executive Head; Elmar Lloren, KAYEM Editor-in-Chief; Melanie Monter-ola, SPONGE Club Secretary; Meljun Halichic, MIT Club President; Edgardo Martin Daus, SMO Club Vice-President; Reymar Ambahan, PAGE Club President; and Robinson Guingaban, Green-R Club President. The main reason of the event was the newly elected Student Councils and they were: Genesis Dineros, Executive Head; Marvin Capuno, Vice-Executive Head; Rodney Toribio, Secretary General; Romnick Cajan, Asst. Secretary General; and the Representatives: Crecet Dela Cruz, 2ICT; Carlo David, 2ECT; Christopher Car-mona, 1ICT; Annabelle Adriano, 1ECT; Gibson Relado, WeldTech; and Joan Diamsay, BRIDGE. After having their pins, they took their

oath headed by Pastor Enrique Relado, school

chaplain. It was a sign symbolizing the acceptance

of full responsibilities as leaders of ASHTEC stu-

dents. The ceremony was closed by Mr. Quitalig

who left a message that leaders should remain

committed to what they had started until the end.

Surprised students and staff of ASHTEC along

with the EEI Trainees and Trainers followed the queue to-wards ASHTEC Basketball court last September 15, 2010 in the middle of the skin-burning radiance of the sun at around 10:00 am until they found out it was a Fire Drill. It aimed to increase the awareness of every inhabitants of ASHTEC campus in case of such incidents. This was sphere headed by the Support and Service Department (SSD) in the lead of Mrs. Evangeline Querido. Mr. Loven Familaran, EEI Safety Engineer, as the facilitator of the drill talked some safety precautions and

The annual Skills Olympic for ASHTEC students were successfully held last January 17th-22nd of January 2011 spearheaded by Mr. Demio Casigay, Skills Supervisor. This competition aims to display student’s capability in technical skills with competitiveness and quality output and serves as preparation for their upcoming trade test and in their future career. The competition was composed of 15 categories from electronics, I.T and welding. Students were enthusiasti-cally eager to win the game for they know it will add a good record in their portfolio in applying jobs. The win-ners were recognized on the last day of the competition and they received each of them medal, certificate and Nescafe’s cup. The following are the names of the win-ners from 1st down to the 3rd place with their respective catego-ries: AutoCAD was dominated by Benjinito Malana fol-lowed by Nonie Canaveral and Jerry Perez. Rey Angelo Cucio took the first place for Flash animation and he was followed by Raymon Escopete and Nonie Canaveral in 2nd and 3rd place: Graphics Designing, the champion was Rodney Toribio, and Nonie Canaveral with its prime skills versatility took the other place together with Nolizar Bilog: Maya Animation, Analiza Belme grab the first place, and preceded by Maiko Oczon and Joan Balderas.: network management, Nikolai Sy top the competition from his prime competitors, Kevin Mi-cosa and Rey Angelo Cucio. Webpage Designing, Rod-ney Toribio again dominate the battle while Meljun Halichic and Marlon Diaz took the other places; Speed typing was reigned by Lizamor Buntog followed by Kristine Obsioma and Twinjun Cardino; Object-

measures about fire troubles. He discussed the PASS System of the fire extinguisher which means: P-ull the Pin; A-im the Nussle; S-queeze the Head; and S-wift Side to Side. He said that the absence of one in the three components of fire (which is fuel, oxygen and heat) ceased the burning process. He also added that the model of fire like wood, plastics, flammable liquid and electronics appliances has correspond-ing elements to kill them.

First-aids and basic life support was conducted by Mr. Carlos Amurao, the EEI Nurse. He explained the ABC’s to remember in case of suffocation that might be occurred in some friends, co-workers, co-staff or classmates. Check the patient’s Airways if they have obstruction, the Breathing and the patient’s position to regulate blood Circulation. He demonstrated the proper checking of ABC’s through the semi-injured EEI worker. He added in the demonstration the mouth-to-mouth blows if there’s no breathing, the ex-traction of the obstruction in the throat and the cardiac pump.

85% Passing Rate for NC II

Before the first semester end, the students of

ASHTEC ( ICT, ECT and Welding Technology) took their

NC II Examination at ATEC Technological School, San

Diego Bldg., Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan last October 24

-28, 2010 accompanied by their advisers and instructors.

The National Certificate (NC) is a locally and internation-

ally-recognized license issued to a practitioner of a spe-

cific technical study (I.T, Electronics, Welding) given by

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

(TESDA).

The ICT student took the Computer Hardware

Servicing (CHS) Certification, and their ECT counterparts

took the Consumer Electronics Servicing (CES) Certifica-

tion while the Shielded Metal Arc Welding was for the

Welding students.

Passing the National Certification is a must to

get not just good credentials but also well-paying jobs

both here and abroad. After the one-week exam, the re-

sults came out. ASHTEC got an astounding 85% passing

rate out of 350 for a total of 297 students; certifying its

credibility and competitiveness in giving high standard

and quality technical skills and opportunity-oriented

career to its students. Now, even most of them is young

especially first year, holds that certificate with confi-

dence telling the world: “I’ve got skills!”

T he moment you decided to choose study-

ing better or the contrary, you had made

already a starting point for a journey of

your life here in ASHTEC. Whatever of the two

you have pick, surely you will reap something at

the end either you will finish the course or will be

expelled or dropped and that’s the number one

rule here in our school.

Our school made a decision to empower and

transform youths making it as its mission. Weeks

after weeks and months after months, our in-

structors were able to equip us skills, bring out

the hidden talents and mold our personalities. So

there’s no wondering on why we keep on garner-

ing achievements and recognition after spending

our time here. But before we will end up to that

thing, we must experience first the hardship of

nurturing those dreams. It’s like planting trees; it

takes time and patience to wait for its first fruit.

The school accepted that kind of challenge, they

made sacrifice, effort and investment before ac-

knowledging the presence of harvesting. One of

the good harvests they might obtain is our har-

vest. They might not be the one gathering it but

part of our achievement is from them because

that’s the investment they put on while teaching

and helping us.

You have taken the flight, broken the wind and

journeyed life—after conquering those battles,

it’s time for you to prepare yourself to harvest

mode. In any circumstances you are right now,

that is a path toward harvesting. Be watchful and

careful because you might reaped the wrong de-

cision you have made before but you still have

time to think about what you’re doing right now.

Go and reap the good harvest!

Students and Staff had witnessed the memorable summer youth camp held at Highlands Camp and Conference Iba, Zambales last February 16 and 17 to give participation on the said activity every year sponsored by anonymous persons outside the country led by the “Mega Ministries Incorporated” (MMI) enthemed “24 Delay No More”. The seven buses started in number fifteen(15) to twenty one(21) entered the school at around seven o’clock in the morning. The students in AMG are very excited to go on the camp site especially the bridge and 1st year who were the first timer. After the students prepared their foods from canteen, they went to their assigned buses. Before the buses left the school, the designated staff and leaders in each buses check their busmates if already there followed by prayer for their guidance. After a five-hour journey, they successfully reached the camp site, the security administered them for checking of their bagage if there is deadly weapons brought. As time ran, some students temporary took a rest under the mango tree nearby the inspection area while waiting others who were not yet done. After a serveral minutes, campers received their meal stub/I.D. and went in their perspective dorms. Subsequently, all campers on different place proceed on conference area to meet their team mates as well as to hear the camp rules and regulations given by the master of ceremony. After-minutes, all campers took their dinner area. At around seven thirty, campers were able to call to worship in conference area led by the music team and dancers of MMI. After hours, the first speaker,

Pastor Vincent Vicencio, President of Tough Guy International, delivered his tremendous speech to the crowd with direct-to-the-point words and good moral lesson in his topic because of God’s faithfullnes in his life. Further, the speaker challenge the campers to meditate and evaluate theirselves in all the things they have done wrong and to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal Saviour. The first night end with counseling to those campers who accept the challenge. Early in the morning of the next day, the campers ate their breakfast and took a bath for preparation for the next activity. At around nine o’clock, the battle begins with the team: Rush, Flash, Dash, and Push conjunction wit the undergo alteration for baptism guided by different pastors and MMI department. After that, campers were force to take a bath immediately before partaking their lunch break in order to do avoid the simultaneously bathing in bathroom. At around one pm, the last activity to perform by the campers on the highlands made by last worship and final message by host. At Around 3:00 pm, all campers exit the camp site for the departure.

The camp was marked a favorable outcome to

the campers especially to the ASHTEC students to be

more effective christian in this temporary world.

Magdrills+German Far East Corporation, prioritized student for their OJT; the Maltaps, producer of steel and metal craft windows, beds and rolls up doors; Master Web Porks (APT), the leader of web design & develop-ment, internet marketing, E-commerce, flash design and search engine optimization; the New San Jose Builder Inc., real estate development giving a choices and methods in owning quality homes in various loca-tions; the Sutherland Global services, the multinational technology enabled and business process outsourcing; and the last, the Venzon Manufacturing Corp, designer and manufacturer of wrought iron lighting fixtures.

After giving an acknowledgement on the said companies, The TVET Manager, Mr. Eric Quitalig gave closing remarks for the visitors followed by closing prayer of JBS Liaison and Officer, Mr. Anthony Caluag. Last but not the least is a successfully ended with giving a set up of the participants of the students and Canteen Staff for having a lunch for the visitors on the said pro-gram.

The Diploma Course in Entrepreneurship (DCE) stu-

dents along with their Adviser, Mrs. Rizielle Rodriguez

and ENTRE Instructor, Mrs. Marife Evangelista went to

the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) at the SMX Convention Cen-

ter in Pasay City last July 16, 2010 for a seminar enti-

tled Philippine Franchise Expo 2010. The trip aimed to

develop the innovativeness within themselves in pro-

ducing service or products for their future business and

exposed them in the field of business franchising. It is

one of the program that the school is trying to meet and

one of the preparations for the young entrepreneur in

their future business activity.

“Academic Excellence through multiple intelligence”, this is the theme of GED week for the year 2011. This event had started last February 13, 2011 by a cutting of ribbon at the second floor can-teen. It was headed by the SC ad-viser, Mrs. Cristy D.M. Peralta, and the MVD Supervisor, Mrs. Eulene Joy Mantawil. Thereafter the open-ing ceremony, the first competition was held and this is the bible story contest organized by SMO (Students Missionary Outreach). The 3-day long event from Febru-ary 13-15 was also stimulated by some other event such as Oratori-cal and Chorale Reading contest (SPONGE), Poster making, Mosaic, interpretative and modern dance (PAGE), Manga Making contest (Kayem), Battle of the Brains(Student Council) and lastly, the

Acapella(ASHTEC ensemble). The following is the list of winners in every category of the said competi-tion; Bible Story: 2nd place - 2ICT1 Programming, 1st place- Bridge, Champion - 2nd Year Electronics section 1 and 2. make all the participants realize

their self. These friendly competi-

tions even developed the bonding

and the relationship of every stu-

dent especially the paying and stay

-out here in the institution. More-

over, the event has glorified and

honor God in one way or the other.

Yeah! What you read is true. And yeah, you’re right, there will be more silent day, as the students may call it.

The Student Participating and Organiz-ing New Genial of English Environment or the SPONGE CLUB, proposed last year in the Stu-dent Council that the English speaking day must be every day for the club observed as well as the institution that most of the stu-dents have the skills and attitude but not the fluency in communicating English with the people around. This action is for the prepara-tion of everyone especially in the workplace or if we will be interviewing for our work.

You will pay one peso per word, two pesos per sentence and three pesos per para-graph, if you will be caught on speaking other languages like Tagalog, Bisaya, and Ilocano or any other regional dialects as well as Korean language for those 2nd year students. There will be a proper disciplinary action to those students who will violate the rules intention-ally. Watch out guys! Maybe one of the mem-bers of the club is just at your back listening to what you’re saying. If you’re following it, it’s good for you, and if you’re violating it, just ex-pects your name to be posted on the SPONGE bulletin board with the corresponding amount of your fine….

One of the most awaited times has finally arrived; moment of truth for the suspicious eyes and curious minds. Open House 2010 is far different from the past open house activi-ties before. No more themes, nor over decorated place. This year made a difference, there’s some-thing new about the Open House. “Simplicity Rocks” as we all say. And so it did with this year’s ac-tivity. Although each dorm (both boys and girls) still had their homes with a little touch of decors but all in all, a general cleaning was only been asked to do so. Each dorm proudly presented their place to visitors, school staff and also to their fellow students. Welcome greetings together with warm acceptance, they showed their shelters with such honor and

pride. “It’s not the place that matters, it’s how you preserve it, how you clean it, how you love it.” On the awarding night for one week long Intramurals (Open House was held along with the Intramurals fifth day- September 3, 2010), some of the staff who came to visit each dorm, had cho-sen three dorms. Top three dor-mitories according to their tastes were F5 whose dorm leader was Dulce Camille Zafra, ranked num-ber three; M7- Mr. Resty Padilla as the second; and F3- Lizamor Buntog as the first. Everyone did enjoy the moment;

But beside of the enjoyment it brings, there are a lot of bad things we can earn from facebook. Just like here

in our school, it is a temptation for the entire student who has their computer subject. We all know that it is a viola-

tion if we try to open our account but some of the students didn't care even though they violate the rule. So they got a

minor or major violation. It is also an additional expense, especially those who are addicted to it. Instead that they

will spend their money in valuable things, they will rent a computer just to check their account. It is also wasting our

time. And we didn't even notice also that it affects our health: the radiation that we can get from the computer affects

our eyes and some of the students don't take their meals just to log in.

According to TIME Magazine, the Global Network Facebook has conquered America and as I observe, it will

happen also to our country or it might be happening already. As Christians, why don't we grab the opportunity to

share the Gospel through FB since it will defeat our land, if ever. Post verses on your wall instead of love quotes,

search friend whom you can share the Good news, send messages with reminders about God's love to your family

and close friends. While the world is continuously changing through technology, we as child of God need to over-

come it. It is not unfavorable for as Christians to go with the flow but when we are there, always remember: What

would Jesus do?

Saturdays and Sundays are never been exciting before for ASHTEC students to wait except for those who ex-pect dalaw from parents, relatives or friends but not until cell phones are allowed to use during weekends.

Try to look around during weekends and you will be surprised how busy each students working on their cellphones. Busy sa kakatext; nangangalyo na ang ka-may, todo-bigay pa rin sa pagreply. (Tibay niyo guys and girls). The main reason I can say it because I see it. I have no cellphone, that’s the reason why I can observe and see what’s happening. Unlike others na hindi na namamansin because busy nga naman sa pagtetext (Oops! No hurt feelings). I wish no one here who does-n’t eat just because of cell phone. Peace.

If not busy on texting, they are busy calling someone. Those who can afford to make a call is a little bit, let say, “thrifty”. Why I said so? Because instead of spend-ing it in facebooking (their first love activity), online gaming, or food, snacks or meriendas: they rather save it for cell phone load. What do you think? Hmmm...la-la-la-la ♫

Well, I have no hurt feeling just because I have no cell

phone. I can say this because I see that the virus of

busyness every weekend spreads great to everybody.

Everyone suffers the “TALK ‘N TEXT FEVER.” If they

don’t talk (call), they text. If they don’t text, they talk.

According to the history, dance does not leave behind clearly identifiable physical artifacts such asstone tools, hunting implements or cave paintings. It is not possible to say when dance became part of human culture. Dance has certainly been an important part of ceremony, rituals, celebrations and entertainment since before the birth of the earliest human civilizations. One of the earliest structured uses of dances may have been in the performance and in the telling of myths. It was also sometimes used to show feelings for one of the opposite gender. It is also linked to the origin of "love making." Before the production of written languages, dance was one of the methods of passing these stories down from generation to generation. Nowadays, There are different genre that exists regarding in dance when the history began. Here in ASHTEC, the most played song that students are really enjoyed is “Shembot” which originated from GMA 7 in Eat Bulaga (one of the most viewed noontime show here in the Philippines).

In the 2nd semester of 2nd year ECT, ICT, and

1st year welding technology, they have a modern dance

subject in P.E. and their final examination is to perform

it on the crowd. After an intense rehearsel within a

month, the said students came from diffrent sections

and course carried out the Shembot at Second Floor

Function Hall 9:00am,Tuesday, March 22, 2011 hosted

by Mr. Roldan Verginiza, the Electronics and

Entrepreneur Instructor judged by TVET Manager Mr.

Eric Quitalig with his wife Mrs. Sheryl Quitalig together

with the presence of GED Supervisor Mrs. Eulen Joy

Mantawil, Mrs. Evangeline Querido, and Ms. Jaira

Verginiza, dance instructor in P.E. The performers are

in the sequence led by 2ECT1 adjutantly of 2ICT1 major

in programming then the welding technology section 2,

2ECT2, followed by Welding section 1 and last but not

the least is the 2ICT2 major in animation. The Event

was closed by picture taking of the student participants

shot by Mr. Virgillio “Boss” Pineda who is the President

of Media Team Production.

Last June 27, 2010 at

about 9:00 am, all ASHTEC

students gathered at the 2nd

floor Canteen for the much

awaited Club Orientation. This

event aimed to help students to

know what club they were fit-

ted and what group can make

them improve and explore tal-

ents and skills.

The program started

with a bang from the energizer

which was participated by all

of the students. Mrs. Cristina

Peralta, Master of the Cere-

mony, called the attention of

the student for the first club to

present. The first one was the

PAGE (Proficient Artist Guild

of Enthusiast). It is a place for

gifted and willing to learn to

be dancers: interpretative,

modern or cultural; actors and

actresses of their generation

and artists. The club encour-

aged the student with their fu-

ture activities such as work-

shop for dancers, seminars and

competition. Secondly, the

SLAM (Sports Lover and

Manpower) which focused is

on the field of sports. They are

the one who handles the sports

event of the school such as

Intramurals and InterDorm

League; anyway, they are the

busiest.

Next, the KAYEM, it’s

the official scool publication

and this team is the silent

mover. Actually, this is an or-

ganization not a club; they

make a quiet and good impres-

sion to the outside world for

they are writing information

about our school which is be-

ing exported to Holland, fund-

supporter of the school. “We

are writing to express not to

impress” as they said. Open to

all who has first love in writ-

ing. Then, the SPONGE

(Student Participating and Or-

ganizing New Genial Environ-

ment in English), founder of

the “English Speaking Day”,

they are reaching the student

who has a hard time in coping

with English language. It aims

to increase the fluency of eve-

ryone for future benefits such

as in finding job as well as in

the workplace.

Student Missionary

Outreach (SMO) was founded

also to patronize the business

that the school offer- produc-

tive Christian. They have the

mission to evangelize and in-

troduce the Word of God to

those who are darkly fluctu-

ated. Open to those who have

the heart and passion to share

the gospel. The “Nature

Lover” was present also during

the orientation, the GREEN-R

(Green Revolution); responsi-

ble in the production of addi-

tional food in the canteen.

They plant rice, vegetables,

c u l t i v a t e e a r t h w o r m s

(Vermiculture), mushroom

production and more. Students

who have the hands-in-soil are

very welcome.

Lastly, the MIT (Management

in Information Technology), a

team for “computer lover”,

who checks computer troubles

either software or hardware

and they are responsible in the

maintenance of computers in

the IT Lab. Anyone who are

interested and willing to learn

(for they have programs such

as IT seminars with expert

guest invited) are very much

accepted in the club.

God has given everyone of us

talents and skills. Don’t just

keep it, you should rather

come out and show what

you’ve got to glorify God. Use

it as a stepping stone to be the

person God wants us to be. So

What if the institution of AMG Skilled Hands Techno-logical College leveled up? What does it mean? Have you ever imagine if AMG School would become a university? Would it be? Certainly yes, it's possible to happen but then it would take time, efforts, determina-tion, planning, prayer with unity and subsidiary of eve-ryone who belongs in ASHTEC family. So, let's imagine AMG SHTC is now "AMG UNIVERSITY”. Of course there are many changes regarding in the facilities: ICT & ECT laboratory; buildings: boys and girls dormitory, the range of location, dining area , staff house, sports area, computer shop, library; and the people itself :sponsors, partners, staff, population growth of students either scholar, paying students or sponsored and the instruc-tor or professor. Since the AMG is university, the two years course of-fered before will become four years. Electronics and Communication Technology will be changed into Elec-tronics and Communication Engineering or ECE for short and both two year-course in Information and Communication Technology major in Programming and Animation will become BSIT - Bachelor of Science in Information Technology and perhaps the Diploma Course in Entrepreneurship would be Bachelor of Sci-

ence in Business Administration or BSBA as well as the one year course Welding Technology will add another one year so it will be a two years. How about the Bridge Program? I think for those who graduated in A.L.S. or Active Learning System, before they become a fresh-men, they will undergo one year alteration in Bridge for the betterment of their selves. Another imagination specifically in fish pond beyond the boys’ dormitory will turn into a swimming pool for P.E. subjects while the cafeteria will be the main food court in school and the canteen will be set in another location or building so it will be wider. Further the Roof deck will be likened in second floor canteen, "air condi-tioned". Aside from that, every rice field nearby outside the school will be owned by the school perhaps for another set of computer building for the sake of the students and in the future. Now, this is the moment that I have ever greatly imag-

it has an elevator itself unlike before it was constructed

Every selected and representa-tive of respective teams such as the Ohm Mega Volts, 1ECT1; TroubleShooters, 1ECT2; DC, 1ECT3; Ksiddrah, 1ICT1; Trojans, 1ICT2; Windows 1ICT3; Bridge@play-BRIDGE; Danver-2ECT1; Elashtec, 2ECT2; Eclipse, 2ICT1; Prototype, 2ICT2; Weld Kings, 1WT1; and last, the WeldTech Warriors, 1WT2 were competing with each other between the two divisions which were men’s division and women’s division in the event of chess. The battle of the brain and logical thinking in behalf of 2010 Intramurals was held in the roof deck, third floor at the girls’ dormitory building of AMG Skilled Hands Technological College, which started on Tuesday of August 31 in the afternoon and it was done at the same time of Thursday, September 2.

The said spectacular activity composed of three match or three rounds. The winners on the first match on the first day in the double elimination for the boys were Romar Monghe(Ohmega Voltz); Bob Cobol(Trojans) Miel Mark David(Weld Kings); Walter Cawayan(Windows); Mike Aliga(Bridge@play); Nikko

Evasco(DanVer Team); Deve Paul Dames(Elashtec); and Leoncio Espiritu(Eclipse). And the first match for the girls, same double elimination were Fernalyn Cervancia (Bridge@play), Racquel Acupiado (Trojans) Opian (Troubleshooters); and Mary Jane Fabia(Eclipse).

The last day which was the final match of both division between boys and girls, the winners on the women were Racquel Acupiado from the Trojans, the second placer; followed Fernalyn Cervancia, first place; and the champion Mary Jane Fabia who was also the defending champion last year. For our gentlemen, the selected winners were Romar Monghe who reached the 2nd place. Then came Nikko Evasco for the 1st place and hailed as champion was Leoncio Espiritu, Champion of all season.

As a part of ASHTEC Intramurals 2010, Student Council formed its own version of Showtime- a classic talent showdown aired in Philippine National Television by ABS-CBN. The event took place last September 3, 2010 at exactly 1:30 in the afternoon at the ASHTEC fountain area (just right after the Partners’ Day). This aimed to motivate the student to show-off their God-given talents. Every sec-tion of every year levels was tasked to have their own contestant for the said program.

At the main event every contestant did-n’t really failed the viewers’ expectations. The first contestant, Protyotype, amazed the audi-ence with their colorful body paints (specifically in their faces) which goes with the rhythm or their harmonious dance steps. Elastech with its energetic and full of twist dance also entertained the audience, the “super twins” and “Agua Bendita” scene of Ksiddrah also made a remarkable scene to the viewers; Trojans, with their classic battle at-tire captured the audience with their enter-taining battle cries; Allien’s Angel which was the Ohm Mega Voltz, made the floor shaking with their all-male performer part turned to girly step accompanied by the song “Single Ladies”; DanVer also lighted up the floor with their yellow t-shirt costume which gave more color on their entertaining performance with

their mixed tramping and suicide stunts; graceful, lively and lovely step was put on the floor by the Eclipse Team; the merge section of DCE and BRIDGE (EntrePinoy & Bridge@Play) showcased military concept and the end they displayed a large banner thanking the sponsors for the continuous sup-port they made to the school; a Mascara Festi-val like street dance was brought to the floor by the TroubleShooter; the Windows Team made a giggling and awesome move also for their rocking and modern style of dancing; and the last to perform was the WeldKings, inflicting a crispy laughter to everybody with their merely on-the-spot performance. Ladies turned to be wild when the group brought out their special weapon- their F4 version. The winners were known during the

award night and closing program of the Intra-

murals last September 4, 2010 at the 2nd floor

Canteen. The 3rd place was tied up by Weld-

Kings and Ohm Mega Voltz; followed by the

Ksiddrah as the 2nd; and the DanVer was

hailed as the Champion for Showtime 2010.

More than the desire of winning, contestants

after the competition surely assured some-

thing to them- and this was “I glorify God on

my own little way”. The event concluded not

just by recognizing the winners but moreover,

giving that special citation to the Giver of this

talent- OUR GOD ALMIGHTY.

Let’s get ready to jump ball!!! Intramu-rals 2010 is officially open!

Eleven teams joined the basketball league. These 11 teams were divided into two brackets, the bracket A&B. The bracket A was consisted of Mega Voltz, DanVer, Eclipse, TroubleShooters and Bridge@play with the EntrePinoy combined together. The bracket B was composed of DC (Direct Current), Ksid-drah with the Trojans, Windows, WeldKings, WeldTech Warriors and Elashtech.

The said event started last August 31, 2010 after the search of Bb. Intramurals 2010. The games were very exciting but the slot for semi-finals needed only four teams and the following were the qualifiers: DanVer; Eclipse; Windows; and WeldKings.

Before they had reached that point, they defeated the other teams. The DanVer had a win over Mega Voltz (44-40) and Trou-bleShooters (65-61). Next, then the Eclipse who crashed the Bridge@play merged with EntrePinoy (58-44) and Windows (50-46). The Windows blocked the driveway of the DC

(38-31) and Bridge@play with EntrePinoy (47-42) toward semi-finals. And last, the Weld-Kings powdered the Elashtech (69-50) and WeldTech Warriors (66-54) to reach the semi-finals.

These four teams made an impressive show toward semi-finals but it only need two teams to make it to the finals. The WeldKings matched with Eclipse and DanVer against the Windows and vice versa; and it was Weld-

Kings and Windows who reached the peak vying for champion. 2nd runner up went to the Eclipse team. The much-awaited battle of the

Kings and Windows. The beginning of

the game could not define who will

make it to the end for they were both

determined to do it so. Everyone was

holding their breath in every shot that

the players made. But time was run-

ning, after that tiring moment of cheer-

ing from the audience, the game came

to an end. The WeldKings were truly

the Kings of their generation to be

crowned. Congratulations!
