CAUTION!!

Always check the engine oil level with the generator on a level surface before starting. The engine may be damaged if operated with insufficient engine oil, it is also dangerous to refill the engine with too much engine oil as the sump will over flow and leak onto the floor of the generator, and may ignite or cause corrosion on other parts. RECOMMENDED RUNNING IN PERIOD (INITIAL 20 HOURS)

The running-in period is very important for extending the engine service life. Do not run the engine with full load during run in period. Be sure to run the engine at 50%-60% load during running-in period. A generator, like a car, needs to be run in and should the load be too high the engine life will be shortened, should the load be too light the engine will not perform as well as it should once the run in period is over. STARTING THE ENGINE Disconnect any load from the AC receptacle before starting. Shut off the AC circuit breaker. Turn the key switch to ON position. Turn the engine switch to START position and hold it until the engine starts. Or push the START button on the Digital Panel

Do not engage starter motor for more than 5 seconds at any one time. If the engine does not start, be sure to release the key and wait at least 10 seconds before retrying. Warm up the engine to stabilize the engine speed, this eliminates voltage fluctuation as well as reducing wear on the engine and prevents the engine from seizure by warming up the lube oil. It is normal for blue/grey smoke to come out of the exhaust during warm up period. Press the start key directly to start the unit when there is no fault code displayed on the control panel. When the unit has a fault code displayed you should press the stop/clear key to eliminate any fault displayed before trying to restart. Take note of the fault displayed and rectify the problem, if you cannot fix the fault please call BUNDU POWER for assistance. When the unit is running or starting, you can press the stop/clear key to stop the unit. Press the Item key to observe the information of any electrical parameters when the unit stops due to a fault. The display panel will indicate what the fault is.

High Engine temperature warning: When the unit detects temperature is too high, the unit will stop after 1second via the activated relay. The over temperature warning light will illuminate. When the unit detects a fault signal from the alternator the warning light will flash. 0ver / Under voltage protection warning. If the output frequency is set at 50Hz but goes over 55Hz, high protection warning light will flash. If the output frequency is lower than 47Hz, the low protection warning light will flash. Overload protection - Should the load reach 100 - 110% of the set current, the overload warning light will flash. USE OF THE DIGITAL DIESEL GENERATOR The battery should be connected to the positive and negative terminals properly, making sure the negative (black) wire is connected to the negative terminal (-) and the positive (red) is connected to the positive (+) terminal. Make sure engine oil is full and there is sufficient diesel fuel to run the generator. Only after turning the key will the digital display panel come on then continue to operate the digital display according to the digital panel functions. NOTICE: SHOULD YOU WISH TO CHANGE ANY PARAMETERS ON THE DIGITAL CONTROL PANEL, YOU MUST CONTACT BUNDU POWER. SHOULD YOU CHANGE ANY OF THE SETTINGS WITH OUT AUTHORISATION FROM BUNDU POWER YOUR WARRANTEE WILL BECOME VOID.

BATTERY

The battery in the KDE6700TA is maintenance free so will last a period of time and will then have to be replaces. Should the battery leak please wear protective clothing to remove the battery and dispose of the battery. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. ENGINE OIL

Engine oil is a major factor affecting engine performance and service life. Check every time you need to run the generator. CC or CD grade SAE 15W-40 engine oil or the equivalent product is recommended. (There must be CC or CD remarks on the engine oil container.) SAE15W-40 is recommended for general, all temperature use. Open the maintenance door, remove and wipe the dipstick clean. Check the oil level, If the level is not on the top mark on the dipstick, top up to the upper limit. Screw in the dipstick in after refilling

Engine Oil Change FIRST MONTH OR 50 HOURS THEN EVERY YEAR OR 100 HOURS When replacing engine oil make sure the engine is warm NOT HOT, be capful of scolding. The oil must be drained out completely and disposed of in environmentally friendly way.

FUEL Fuel tank capacity: 16L. Turn the engine switch to ON position and check the fuel indicator. If necessary, refill the tank to the upper limit. Do not fill the fuel tank above the upper limit mark. Use diesel fuel ONLY. Be sure to screw on the fuel tank cap firmly after refueling. Do not use the stale or mixed diesel fuel; avoid getting dirt or water in the fuel tank.

Diesel fuel is flammable and explosive under certain conditions, refill in a well ventilated area with the engine OFF. Do not smoke or allow naked flames or sparks in the area where the engine is being refueled or where diesel fuel is stored. Be careful not to spill fuel when refueling or spilled fuel vapor may ignite. If any fuel is spilled, make sure the area is cleaned before starting the engine If you run out of fuel the fuel tank and pipes will have air in them so be sure to drain out all the air according to the instructions included in the engine operation manual, then restart the engine at zero load.

6. Shutting down the engine. To shut down the engine in an emergency turn the key into the OFF position. In normal use: turn off the electrical appliances you are using, and turn off the AC circuit breaker. Make sure the generator is warmed up before putting load on.

7. Installing the generator set CONNECTION TO A BUILDING'S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM If the generator set is going to be used instead of Mains or Utility Power, an isolation switch must be installed to disconnect the utility lines from the building when the generator is connected. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician and must comply with all applicable laws and electrical codes. Normally a certificate of compliance would be issued by the qualified installer i.e. Electrician

CAUTION!!

Improper installations to the building's electrical system can allow electricity from the generator to back feed into utility lines and may cause serious injury or death to utility company workers or others who come into contact with the lines. To prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances, the generator must be grounded. Connect the ground terminal of the generator to an external ground source. Consult the utility company or a qualified electrician.

8. AC application Be sure that all appliances are in good working condition before connecting them to the generator set. If an appliance begins to operate abnormally, becomes sluggish, or stops suddenly, SHUT down the generator immediately. Disconnect the appliance to determine whether the problem is due to an appliance problem, or overloading. Most appliances and electric motors require more than the rated operating current for start up. The start up current from an electric motor can be 5-7 times higher than the rated operation current, check all equipment before use. An overload will trip the circuit breaker on the generator. If this happens, reduce the electrical load on the circuit; wait a few minutes before resetting the circuit breaker, and re-setting. Be sure to start the electrical motor at zero loads waiting a few minutes for the load to be running at operating current and not start up current and then connect any other load required.

CAUTION!!

Be sure that appliances do not exceed the generator set's rated load capacity for more than 30 minutes as this will shorten the life of the generator set and may cause damage to the engine. Substantial overloading will trip the circuit breaker. Marginal overloading may not trip the circuit breaker. Use correct cables of sufficient sizes or current ratings to connect appliances to the AC terminals. When connecting the cable to the output terminal, attach the cable end to the terminal and ensure the screw is tightened. Do not touch the receptacles or terminals while the generator is running. Do note connect or disconnect an appliance when the AC circuit breaker is at ON position, otherwise electrical shock or damage to the appliance will result.

9. Maintenance Periodical maintenance and adjustment are needed to keep the generator in good working condition. Please follow the maintenance schedule and perform the maintenance and inspections. To preserve the life of the engine. To prevent from carbon monoxide poisoning, be sure to shutoff the engine before doing any maintenance and let engine cool down. If the generator is in an unventilated or confined area, the exhaust concentration could reach dangerous levels. Use only BUNDU POWER genuine parts for maintenance and repairs. Or contact BUNDU POWER for alternative advice. Replacement of parts of a lesser quality may damage the generator set. Shorten maintenance intervals when the generator operates in dusty conditions. These services should be performed by authorized service agents unless the owner has proper tools and is mechanically proficient. Refer to the Operation Manual. To determine the water draining intervals of the fuel water separator according to local diesel oil quality, usually drain water from the separator every 50-100hrs. Record the running hours to determine proper maintenance intervals.

11. Transportation and Storage The engine becomes very hot during operation and remains hot for a while after stopping. Allow the engine to cool before transporting or storing indoors. When transporting the generator set, turn the generator OFF and keep the generator on a level surface to prevent fuel spillage. Preferably remove the key and disconnect the battery. Fuel vapor or spilled fuel may ignite. Contact with a hot engine or exhaust system can cause severe burns or fires. Let the engine cool before transporting or storing indoors. Take care not to drop or strike the generator set when transporting. Do not place heavy objects on the generator set. Use lifting eye or hook when lifting the generator for transportation. Do not lift the generator set by the carrying handle and frame pipe. Storage Clean the generator set to prevent rusting or corrosion should the set be stored for a long period. Check the maintenance schedule and service before storing. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the terminal and tape it. While storing the battery, fully charge the battery once a month. Cover the generator set and place it in a well ventilated and dry area. If the generating set is still hot, wait until it cools down before covering. Replace the engine oil with fresh oil before operating the generator set after storage. Fill the fuel tank with fresh diesel fuel.
