Dropping off & Collection students Please can parents take care when dropping off or collecting children and only where it is safe and legal to do so. We have had some instances of parents parking in the bus bays with the result that the buses have been unable to park properly and have had to block the road while the children board. It is also illegal and unsafe to stop on the zebra crossing or the zigzag area either side. Please can we all put safety first when doing the school run. Year 8 Camp Year 8 Camp leaves school 9am Sunday 15th July, returns 1pm Wednesday 18th July. As part of our ‘Respect Agenda’ and as a trial for next year, our year 8 students this term have been taking part in a ‘Meet and Greet’ scheme. This has involved our year 8’s taking it in turns to welcome any visitor to the school. They have been the first impression that our visitors get of the school, and all who have taken part so far have done an excellent job, demonstrating the very high standards that we have here at Willingdon. Tuesday 17th July - Olympic torch As parents will already be aware, the 16th 17th and 18th of July are our Activities days. Trips that have already been arranged out of school will go ahead as planned on that day but Activities in school will finish at lunchtime so that students can go and see the Olympic torch if they choose. Uniform ordering for the rest of the term and into the holidays School uniform can be ordered and purchased throughout the school term by coming into Reception between 8.30am - 4.00pm, or by ordering uniform via our website www.willingdon.e-sussex.sch.uk and stating your preferred contact details, so we can then let you know when the uniform is ready for collection. During the summer holidays there will still be the opportunity to order uniform, ideally via the school website or by dropping off the order into Reception. Whilst Reception will not be manned throughout the closure, staff dealing with School Uniform will be coming in periodically during the school holidays, to make up any orders that have been received, and again, by leaving your contact details on the form they will let you know when the items are ready for collection. Please note that Uniform Orders can be requested throughout the summer holidays, however due to staff training on the 4th September (INSET day) the last day that uniform orders can be requested during the summer closure will be up to and including Monday 3rd September.
