The Speaker I chose is Steve Jobs, the late cofounder and former
CEO of Apple, Inc.
His thesis for his “How To Live
Before You Die” speech was simple.

To maintain the attention of his audience, he structured his speech in a
“This is where I was. This is where I went.” pattern.

For dynamism of this speech on a
scale of 1 to 5...Steve is typically a more energetic
speaker and usually does not use notes.
However, I feel like this is more due to the subject
matter and not a true representation of
him as a speaker.

From Steve’s speech, we take away that showing vulnerability helps the audience trust us and
become invested in our story, and thus helps us deliver
our message.
Fellow classmates can learn that personal experiences help the presenter connect with the
audience. Connecting with the audience helps the presenter better communicate their idea.
