Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Had configured, installed, and implemented more 8 Oracle Database RAC (2-node each) Databases for MTN Nigeria.

Lead team player in the migration of more than forty Oracle Databases to RMAN managed backups via VERITAS Netback up tool ranging from one terabyte to tens of terabytes.

Provided technical and administrative support for Oracle/SQL Server Production and Development databases.

Responsible for managing of physical standby databases for disaster recovery.

Upgraded Oracle database from 9i to 10g and from 10g to 11gR1/R2 in Dev, Test, QA and Production environments with little downtime.

Applied reasonable number of Oracle PSU patches in line with MTN Nigeria’s policies.

Expert in the use of RMAN tool to Backup, Restore and Recover databases, even with VERITAS Netbackup third part tool.

Providing extensive developer support. Had tested different scenarios of RMAN Backups, Restore and

Recovering in order to reduce unscheduled downtime in case of any data corruption or loss of data.

Had been fully engaged in a number of scheduled and unscheduled Disaster Recovery exercises.

Responsible for database re-organization to reclaim the space (save cost) after the data was off-loaded by archive process.
