Fete The countdown is on to our Annual Fete. We look forward to welcoming you and
the wider community to the Fete. It is a great opportunity for fellowship and
celebration. There are opportunities for you to volunteer if you have some spare
time, see the LINK. See you Saturday.
The Sweet Stall Convenor is looking for
volunteers to pack all the sweets for the
Fete and to do some extra cooking.
Whilst the Auxiliary will be supporting
this, extra assistance will be required
from Tuesday 28 July to Fri 31 July,
from 8.30am to 12pm. If you are able to
help on any of those days, please contact
Peta McIver via [email protected]
or 0403 486 992 and she’ll roster you
in. Packing will be conducted at the
school kitchen.

Head of College Installation Sunday saw Mr Philip Hulland installed as the Head of College. Mr Hulland was supported by his family, colleagues,

Prince of Peace Lutheran College.

Debating Debut of our first co-curricular senior competitive team. The students
prepared, trained and competed all in their own time to represent their
school. The adjudicator commented that this first Year 7 debate was
actually of a Year 9 standard. Having been around debating for a very
long time, I feel that this praise reflects very well on their efforts and
Wow, here we are. FETE WEEK!
I hope everyone is getting excited. A lot of work has gone into making Saturday a great day. If you’re
friends with any of the convenors or myself, please forgive all of us as we get closer to Saturday, we’ll all be just a little bit preoccupied.
Now for all the important info.
Rosters – there are still a lot of rosters that need to be filled before Saturday. Go to http://
princeofpeacelutherancollege1.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=9489 to book onto a shift. If anyone has any trouble booking in for any reason, just send me an email with your preferred shift and I’ll book you
Ride Armbands– Don’t forget to get your discounted armbands by 4pm Friday $30 at either campus
reception or even easier at www.flexischools.com.au. Armbands will be available for collection from 10.45am on Saturday morning and rides run from 11.30-4.30. Prices on the day armbands $35, and
individual tickets $5. To see the rides on offer go to www.popfete.blogspot.com.au
Entertainment – Why not grab a chair to watch our fantastic choirs and ensembles.
The line up for the day will be:
11:10 Junior Campus Choirs 1:29 Concert Band (Senior Contemporary Ensemble) 11:52 Recorder Band 1:39 Senior Contemporary Ensemble 12:02 JC String ensemble 1:52 Middle School Worship Band 12:15 JC Percussion Ensemble 2:02 Senior Worship Band 12:25 JC Junior Band Ensemble 2:17 Footloose Musical numbers 12:37 Junior Contemporary Ensemble 2:30 Cooley Health Clinics demo 12:47 Senior Campus Choir 3:00 Peace Tae Kwon Do demo 12:57 Senior Campus String Ensemble 4:45 Ben Swift 1:07 Wind Quartet 5:15 Prince of Peace Teachers 1:19 Senior Campus Percussion Ensemble 6:00 Fireworks
Promises to be a great day of entertainment.
Packaging - Thursday and Friday will be big packaging days in the Junior Campus kitchen. If you have some time available, all extra hands will be appreciated by the Sweets and Cakes stalls.
Pack Up / Clean Up– Calling extra hands to assist with packing up tents and stalls from 4:45pm on Saturday and then cleaning up the grounds ready for school on Sunday morning. I understand it’s a
tough morning to get up, but many hands do make light work. The last few years there have only been 3 or 4 people on Sunday meaning they have worked all day to get the school back to some normality for
school on Monday. If you can help, even just for an hour either sign-up at http://princeofpeacelutherancollege1.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=9489 or email me at
Valuables – Please think about how you’re going to keep money and valuables safe on the day. If you are able to avoid handbags, do so. It is a sad fact that when events like this happen, as well as attracting
community members, it does also include those with less than pure motives. Be aware of your belongings at all times, keep phones and money on you, but above all have a great time.
Prep Carpark – Prep carpark will be closed from lunchtime on Friday due to set up of fete. There will be drive through collection on the hard court straight after school and collection from OSHC parking will also
be on the carpark. Please be aware of the cold rooms and skip that will be on the hard court. We’ll endeavour to minimise their impact.
Parking On Saturday – When parking on Saturday, please be considerate of our neighbours. There is a lot of parking available along Queen’s Road. There will be no parking on the hard court or prep carpark
except for a couple of authorised vehicles and disabled parking/drop off.
Finally, a big thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to help get everything ready for Saturday.
The stall convenors have all done an amazing job and I have no doubt that the day will be great.
I hope everyone has a fantastic day. Cath Watson Fete Coordinator [email protected]
