Hello fellow Lions. As I write this report there are Lions running everywhere preparing for tonight’s Trivia Night. This has turned out to be more successful than initially expected; as has the Community raffle which is drawn tonight. It appears this is a good formula which certainly empowers community groups to raise much needed funds and involves them in tonight’s trivia, where all receipts will go to the Cancer Fund. It’s sometimes an error singling out particular people, but in this instance I must recognise the efforts of Graham Bradley, Ian Chellew, Wendi Scifleet and of course “workhorse” Bob Gray. PS Trivia was a great success – Thanks to all involved. Thanks to all those that participated in the Red Shield collection. At this point I’m not sure how much we raised but I’m aware collections in Illawarra were down around 20%. Hopefully I’ll have news Thursday night. Speaking about Thursday Night don’t forget we’re at the Bowlo (there’s penalties if you go to Leagues Club). Bring flat shoes or bowl barefoot – or sit inside and watch! The meal was great last time and I don’t expect and difference – Warren said! At our last meeting the 3 Outward Bounders gave a great presentation of their exploits (pity about the tech-head running the slides!). I believe everyone felt good about the money we put into this venture and the experience we give to some great kids. It’s important we have numbers for the Leagues Club. It’s more important for the Bowlo. Please follow the meeting etiquette and let us know what you’re doing in the usual way. Pres. Geoff If a Member is NOT attending he/she needs to apologise by ringing the Club’s phone number (0449 523 040). That is we assume you’re attending unless told otherwise. 1. If a member is bringing a guest (e.g. wife/partner/friend etc.), the Club needs to know by ringing the Club’s phone number (0449 523 040). Kiama Lions Club Ki-Lines Edition 23/ 2013-2014

Hello fellow Lions.

As I write this report there are Lions running everywhere preparing for tonight’s Trivia

Night. This has turned out to be more successful than initially expected; as has the

Community raffle which is drawn tonight. It appears this is a good formula which certainly

empowers community groups to raise much needed funds and involves them in tonight’s trivia,

where all receipts will go to the Cancer Fund. It’s sometimes an error singling out particular people,

but in this instance I must recognise the efforts of Graham Bradley, Ian Chellew, Wendi Scifleet and

of course “workhorse” Bob Gray. PS Trivia was a great success – Thanks to all involved.

Thanks to all those that participated in the Red Shield collection. At this point I’m not sure how much

we raised but I’m aware collections in Illawarra were down around 20%. Hopefully I’ll have news

Thursday night.

Speaking about Thursday Night don’t forget we’re at the Bowlo (there’s penalties if you go to

Leagues Club). Bring flat shoes or bowl barefoot – or sit inside and watch! The meal was great last

time and I don’t expect and difference – Warren said!

At our last meeting the 3 Outward Bounders gave a great presentation of their exploits (pity about

the tech-head running the slides!). I believe everyone felt good about the money we put into this

venture and the experience we give to some great kids.

It’s important we have numbers for the Leagues Club. It’s more important for the Bowlo. Please

follow the meeting etiquette and let us know what you’re doing in the usual way.

Pres. Geoff

If a Member is NOT attending he/she needs to apologise by ringing the Club’s phone number

(0449 523 040). That is we assume you’re attending unless told otherwise.

1. If a member is bringing a guest (e.g. wife/partner/friend etc.), the Club needs to know by

ringing the Club’s phone number (0449 523 040).

DRIVER REVIVER ROSTERS REQUIRING FILLING KIAMALIONS. Lions, we are days out from

commencing this roster and there are spaces vacant everywhere throughout. Let me ask a

question!!!! Are your family members travelling June Long weekend or School Holidays? Do you

want them to arrive safe at their journey end?. If you have filled a roster on the Driver Reviver

van you will note that it is about families that we service at these timeframes; parents travelling

with young children during school holiday timeframes.

Please reconsider your time available and contact Lion David Robson to

volunteer. Lions you will need to check with Lion David to see availability of

roster as at the time of printing of Ki-Lines.
