University of Illinois Extension – DeKalb County 4H Purpose of organization: In 4-H, young people share, grow, and learn together from various projects, events, and activities in

informal situations under the guidance of their families and other volunteer adult leaders. Members can choose projects that fit them and the places where they live. Group activities and events such as trips, camps, fairs, shows, and workshops provide additional learning experiences and opportunities.

Description of volunteer activities: University of Illinois Extension programs make a difference in our local communities - largely

because local volunteers are involved in planning and delivering those programs. You probably know some of our 4-H Leaders, Master Gardeners, Master Naturalists or perhaps members of the Extension Unit Council.
