And then somehow or other they

were delivered by the mercy ofGaura Nitai, specifically the

mercy of Lord Nityananda. And

then Yamaraja told Citragupta that

Lord Chaitanya had said that now

they could throw all the records

away. Citra gupta couldnt

believe it! Right,after all that

work, after everything that they

had done, just throw it all away,but this is the case, that by the

mercy of Lord Nityananada, the

two brothers Jagai and Madhaiwere totally forgiven. But Madhai

was not satisfied inspite of being

forgiven by Lord Nityananda

whom he had hit with the pot, he

was still not satisfied. Althought

Lord Nityananda had forgiven, so

what is this? If one commits an

offence to someone then one asks

forgiveness to that person andthen the offence is forgiven. So

how was it that Lord Nityananda

had forgiven Madhai and still

Madhai was not satisfied. So

Lord Nityananda went to see and

Madhai said How will I ever,ever forgive myself, I have

beaten you , I hit you. So many

personalities who have tried to

attack the Lord have all been

killed. And yet youve given me

the mercy, this is inconceivable,

but I am so sinful, Im still not

satisfied.

So Lord Nityananda said, Whatis wrong?

He said, Ive offended so many

people and all these people I have

offended I dont even know them,

how can I ask them for forgiveness, what to do ?

Lord Nityanananda said, Build a

ghatt on the bank of the Ganges

because taking bath in the Ganges

is very purifying and then you

will receive there all the peoplethat come to bathe in the Ganges

and all the pilgrims and they will

use your ghatt.

A ghatt means steps leading into

the water, nice stone steps leading

into the water. The bank of the

Ganges are a little rough and if

you want to just go via the mud to

the water it is not easy. But in

some places they have made some

nice stone steps they go also

underwater and there are chains,

its very easy you can hold onto

the chain while you go under the

water, you dont have to slip and

be swept away by the currents.

So such ghatts are all over India,

one of the nice features of India,

the bathing ghatts, right in the

Holy rivers they are very nice.Yamuna we have Kesi ghatt. And

like that Jagai and Madhai have

their ghatt in Mayapur and one

can go there and take his bath

there and Jagai and Madhai were

doing this service. So by servingthe Vaishnavas one can be

relieved from all kinds of offences

that have been commited

unknowingly, it is explained.

This is a very important thing

because we cant keep track

anymore of the amount of

offences we have commited not

even in this lifetime. Do we still

remember every single ant that wehave stepped on when we were

kids. I remember I did it, on

purpose I rememberright I am

sure others did it tooright, so

many other things. Can we still

remember everything we did?

So the amount of offences and

sinful activities that we have

committed are way beyond our

remembrance but the service to

the vaishnavas is actually

purifying us from these offences.

So that is the means by which we

can get the mercy. Then because

Lord Nityananda is the OriginalSankirtanana Devotee, the

Original Servant of Lord

Chaitanya, so to really get the

mercy of Lord Nityananda, youll

have to serve Lord Chaitanya,

right.

But youll have to serve Lord

Chaitanya in that particular way

by following in the footsteps of

Lord Nityanananda, that is the

idea. Lord Nityananda is teaching

how to be a servant of Lord

Chanitanya. So if we really want

to place Lord Chaitanya in the

inner chamber of our heart then

we have to surrender to Lord

Nityananda and

Lord Nityanananda is a real

preacher, then we have to become

a preacher somehow or other, that

is the only way.

So preaching must be done and

preaching is done in so manyways, whatever way we do it but

..that preaching will benefit us,

it will really benefit us, it will

make us .pure very very

quickly.

Like, Ill give away some little

things: Theres the story about

when we join everyone gets like a

little cup, and this little cup

..right.. very small, and thats the

cup we get for some taste in

Krishna Consciousness. You

know so, with this little cup there

is a lot of nectar but our cup is

very small so we cant get very

much although its all around, so

we get this little nectar in our cup

and ..you know..we need it like

anything so we drink but its a

very small cup so we dont get

that much nectar although there is

so much but we have a very small

cup.

Then by doing devotional service

nicely gradually our cup is

growing, it gets a little bigger, it

gets a little bigger and like that

with time our capacity to takenectar and to taste nectar is

increasing.

But when are we actually going

use our cup to give out the nectar

to others, then we find it just

grows like anything, really very

very quick and it starts likegrowing and before you know it

and you have a big cup and you

can drink huge quantities of

nectar with it, you can give out

huge quantitites of nectar and still

keeps growing until it grows into

a big pot

and with a big pot you can give

out lots of nectar you can have

unlimited amounts of nectar to

drink and then you can always

drink nectar, right, then there is

more nectar than you can drink.

So gradually, this is how in

Krishna consciousness our

capacity to taste the nectar is

growing as we are practising the processs. So therefore following

the footsteps of Lord Nityananda,

somehow or other becoming a

preacher. That doesnt mean

everyone has to do it in the same

way as the classical book

distributor, like some people can

do that, right, but not everyone.

Like Gouranga Premanande cango on the tram and even sell a

book to the driver, right, did

you try!? Yeah you see! He sells

books to the drivers, to the

conductors to all the passengers

on the tram, not everyone is able

to do that. So one may do it in his

own way but somehow or other

we must pass on mercy because

only by that means is our own cup
