Dear friends and family of the Knights of Columbus

I would like to start by thanking the Tjadens and the softball team for purchasing and installing the batteries for the emergency flood lights for the building. Also a big thank you to the burger and Tinkers meal crews. Your time is greatly appreciated and invaluable to the club. Thank you.

We have a lot of exciting things going on at the Knights this month. We are going to be taking a trip to the Corn Crib to have Knights of Colum-bus night on September 1st. Tickets and informa-tion are available at the club. We are having a Wish Bone Pet Adoption Day on Saturday, September 10th. Bring a friend to have a burger and check out the furry friends up for adoption. The always delicious Steak Fry will be held Friday September 30th. Sign up sheet is at the club so stop down and get signed up early. Must pay for your meal by Sept 27th. Also thinking of having a garage sale at the club sometime in October, wanting to see who would be interested, so there will be a sign up sheet at the club. If you could just list a short general description of what you would donate and your name, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to make September, "bring a friend to the club month". I encourage everyone to bring someone down to the club for burgers, a chicken or a tinker meal or just to sit at the bar and get caught up. If you haven't been down in a while, I personally invite you to come and be a part of the family that is the Knights of Columbus. Next time

you're in, or make it a point to come in, please look for your books of raffle tickets for the State Council Vocation Support Program. Its for a truly great cause.

The golf outing was a lot of fun and we want to thank Jim Smith, Rich Novac, Tom Whalen, Mike Mulcahy.Tim Kerns (U Name It Barbeque) and everyone who participated. I'm already looking forward to it next year. The September 1st council meeting will be combined with the September 15th meeting because we will be at the Cornbelters game for Knights of Columbus night. The Knights will be open on Labor Day following the parade. We will be providing snacks so please spread the word and look forward to seeing everyone there.

I would like to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day. If you know one of our blue collar heroes, buy them a drink and give them a big thanks. Without them we wouldn't have roads to drive on, concrete to walk on, a roof over our heads, air conditioning in summer, heat in winter, power to charge our phones and light our homes, clean water to drink and much more.... Thank you all. Best wishes to all our teachers and students as they start another school year.

Thank you for taking your time to read this report and I look forward to seeing you at the club. May these notes find you healthy and happy, and may God bless us all.

Sincerely your Grand KnightTony
