Journal Management:Policy and Practices
Knowledge Sharing
Compared to other developing countries such as India, the Philippines, Mexico, or Brazil, Indonesia is
lacking behind in multi-stakeholders policy journals. Making it worse, current policy journals play
minimum role in translating research documents to policy briefs for policy makers to consume
effectively. The quality of domestic policy research in Indonesia is low as shown in number of published
articles in international peer-reviewed journals indexed by Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI).
In recognition of this, KSI commissioned a diagnostic study on policy journal. The study recommends a
model for quality journal development which include practices in conducting peer review, upholding
ethics, and improving general quality. KSI in collaboration with Kemenristekdikti (MoRTHE) hold this
knowledge sharing session on policy journal management to share the results of diagnostic study.
