Executive SummaryHaving worked closely with civil and military authorities in years past, MyDefence is excited to present KNOX, our full-scale counter UAS solution. Our modular and scalable approach allows for cost efficiency without sacrificing effectiveness. By layering detection and defeat principles (RF, Radar, Optical) we provide coverage against current and emerging unmanned systems threats that include swarms and autonomous flight modes.
MyDefence is an OEM technology company specializing in C-UAS products and emerging technology integration. MyDefence leverages a deep understanding of military operations and robust insight into advanced radio technologies, with expertise of highly skilled engineers. MyDefence offers a layered detect and defeat solution for static, man-portable and mobile platforms. These solutions are modular, scalable, flexible and able to adapt independently, or integrate into other existing network architectures. Our proven reduced Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWAP-C) advantages combined with our operationally tested and proven TRL 9 form factor, offer unrivaled configuration options and abilities for the end user on the ground.
MyDefence can be distinguished from the competition because we offer solutions to many aspects of the UAS problem set. Our man-portable, mobile and fixed position solutions can work separately or as an integrated, customizable and modular solution to detect, identify/classify and mitigate Small UAVs. MyDefence technologies are commercially ready and successfully fielded domestically and inter-nationally through various authorities, Department of Defense and NATO, with multiple quantifiable third-party tests and evaluations accomplished by civil and military authorities worldwide.
Detection Our products detect the control signal of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) UAS platforms. Contrary to much of the competition in the market, we detect not only the signal from the controller to the UAS, but also the video downlink signal that feeds the First-Person View (FPV) back to the UAS pilot. Our system is based on a custom-made software defined radio solution that is adaptable to new threat scenarios. Currently we have the ability to detect these signals in the 433/868/915 MHz, 1.2 GHz, 2.4 GHz and 5.2-5.8 GHz ranges. Our algorithm also supports the ability for other frequency bands, should customer demand and intel necessitate such a signal in the database.
MyDefence TRL-9 equipment has been deployed throughout the world and independently tested and approved by federal government and DoD evaluators

Mitigation Smart RF mitigation technology works in tandem with our detection. Once the control signal is detected, the detector securely relays that data to the mitigation device. The mitigation device then very selectively interferes with the control signal to the UAS, without interfering with the rest of the spectrum outside the frequency band where the drone is being operated. Once this control link is broken, the UAS typically initiates its factory default “return to home” protocol. It is an electronic mitigation, not a kinetic one. We chose this technique so as not to run the risk of collateral damage to people or equipment that can result from kinetic mitigation. However, our system can be combined and integrated with a third-party kinetic defeat for early detection and rough targeting. Our technology can be used in both a tactical environment, as well as domestic civil environments by authorized Federal, State or Local government personnel.
User Interface Various user interfaces give even more fidelity such as make and model of the UAS detected, date/time group of detection, and location when detected. In addition to interfacing with other various network architectures currently in use we have developed an ATAK plug-in as well as our own Graphic User Interface (GUI). We have a standard networked API for 3rd party system integration and we can tailor the output signal to feed into several other GUI platforms as seen on our most recent integration into the General Dynamics Land Systems future Light Armor Vehicle concept. Technology Concept of the KNOX SystemMyDefence has developed a new type of counter-UAS system that can effectively solve the problem of protecting large scale areas against the threat of malicious UAS. The system is referred to as KNOX and is a customizable C-UAS solution with purpose-built RF sensors, radars, smart jammers, and integrated EO/IR cameras for visual tracking. KNOX is now available for use at airports, prisons, oil refineries, critical infrastructure sites, as well as for military use for base security.
The KNOX C-UAS solution fortifies an area day and night against unauthorized flights, providing both passive detection and active defeat solutions to neutralize any small UAS in the secured airspace. To accomplish the most effective, detect-and-defeat solution, KNOX utilizes different sensor technologies, which each serves a purpose in detecting, locating, classifying, tracking and defeating a UAS threat in the vicinity of the secured area.
5
The underlying modularity of the software suite handles inputs from the sensors to allow for the C-UAS system to be integrated into a customer’s existing security setup, without the need for a stand-alone system. The seamless integration into multiple customer user interfaces results in less required operational training and for a more open platform that can accommodate current and future expanding requirements of the customers. Conversely, it can also stand alone if the customer prefers not to have it integrated to an existing platform.
KNOX Configuration Component Details: The KNOX system is modular and can be configured in several ways. Figure 1 shows the full configuration with RF sensors and jammers, radar, EO/thermal camera and C2 system.
RF Sensors:The MyDefence KNOX System includes RF sensors, commonly referred to as Watchdog (Networked, fixed installation) and Wingman (Dismounted, wearable), to detect and provide UAS make/model information to the

user by searching for control signals and video feeds to and from the UAS. Watchdog is specifically suited for stationary installations such as perimeter protection at prisons, military camps or even mounted on vehicles. In these cases multiple Watchdogs can be installed on a scalable network, enabling triangulation of the UAS and larger area detection. In this network configuration, together with our Iris user interface, one will be able to receive detailed information on the UAS detected and can insert their own distinguishable points of interest.

RF Smart Jammers:Included in the KNOX System is a state-of-the-art networked Counter UAS jammer. Pitbull is our man portable offering for this, and our static/mobile option is Dobermann. They can protect any perimeter against UAS threats by actively disrupting the control signal between the UAS and its operator. Our smart RF tools are tailored specifically to mitigate the UAS and are packed with digital features that make them stand out, including scalability, jamming methods and autonomous mode.
Utilizing a next generation jamming method, they can perform selective spot jamming, where only a fraction of the spectrum is being jammed, as opposed to jamming larger parts of the spectrum.

The mitigation principle can be automatically cued by a variety of external sources or operated manually upon visual detection. While most jammers work independently, ours are built for collaborative jamming. Each jammer is radiating low power, but in collaboration mode they will have a high-power effect on the target area, allowing for effective defeat of UAS threats. The total collateral damage to the surroundings will be minimal while the effectiveness on the target is optimized. The MyDefence Counter UAS jammers can either function in manual mode, allowing the operator to decide when to actively engage a UAS threat, or it may be instantly configured to autonomous mode, which allows the jammer to actively engage the UAS when detected.
X-Band Radar: The MyDefence Eagle radar classifies the specific radar signature from the UAS, and provides information on speed, range and direction. Radar is the best fit for RF detection of the UAS in a fully autonomous flight mode and allows for swarm detection capability.
Our proprietary radar yields impeccable detection results and is easily displayed on fully customizable user interfaces. The Eagle radar continuously scans 360 degrees and detects, tracks and classifies the UAS up to 1000 meters. The Eagle radar adds a more precise level of autonomous detection to the KNOX system, enabling it to detect the UAS operating without a radio link between the operator and the UAS itself.
