Police Report Accident in Plumcreek Township SMILE : Met Smut mail of yesteryear has been re- placed by smut-tweets and FaceBook smut- posts of today. P ennsylvania State Police have reported a crash in Plumcreek Township on October 14 at approximately 3PM. The crash occurred on Route 422 near the intersection with Route 210. No names of drivers were released. Investigating Trooper Jeffrey Johns stat- ed a 2013 Kia Sorento was traveling westbound on Route 422 ap- proaching the intersection with Route 210. That vehicle stopped for the red traffic light. A 2015 Jeep Latitude was attempting to exit the Sunoco parking lot and make a left-hand turn onto Route 422, fail- ing to yield to the Kia vehicle, and striking the Kia. Both vehicles sustained minor damage. Both operators were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash and did not report any injuries. Arnold Yeaney, 96, of Pickerington, OH, formerly of Kittanning, PA, passed away Friday, October 12, 2018.

He was born February 1, 1922, in Mudlic, PA, the son of Ira and Laura (Collette) Yeaney.

Arnold is survived by his loving daughter, Jeanne Walker and husband, Paul; grandchildren, Matthew Walker and wife, Jessica; Philip Walker and wife, Cinthia; Carol Walker; Tonya Holmes and husband, Randy; and by great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Arnold was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Inez Yeaney, to whom he was devoted for 75 years; treasured son, David Yeaney; sisters, Helen Leech and Audine McConnell.

Arnold served in the U.S. Army with the 80th Infantry, 319th Regiment during WWII (1942-45). After the war he was employed by the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, where he became a chief accountant assigned to glass plants in Pennsylvania, Indiana, West Virginia, Minnesota, and Oklahoma. He retired from PPG with nearly 40 years of service.

Arnold and his wife, Inez, retired at Smith Mountain Lake, VA and later relocated to Pickerington, OH to be closer to family. They shared a love of the out of doors, often boating, fishing, and hiking together. Nothing made Ar-nold happier than taking on a home improvement project or repair. His fam-ily and friends knew him for his lively curiosity and his talent for storytelling.

Arnold's family would like to thank the staff at Friendship Village of Co-lumbus for the excellent care they have given Arnold over the last 16 months.

Sincere gratitude also goes out to Capital City Hospice for their compas-sionate assistance. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arnold's honor to The Nature Conservancy, Attn: Treasurer, 4245 N. Fairfax Dr., Suite 100, Arlington, VA 22203.

A memorial service for Arnold will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at David's United Church of Christ, 80 W. Columbus St., Canal Winchester,OH, with the Rev. Dr. William Nirote officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm until the time of the service at 1:00pm. An informal meal will follow to which all are cordially invited.

Interment will follow at Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, PA.To share memories or condolences, please visit www.schoedinger.com.
