Laju dan Halaju• Laju adalah kuantiti skalar yang merujuk
kepada “berapa cepat objek bergerak”. Suatu jasad yang bergerak cepat mempunyai laju yang tinggi manakala jasad yang bergerak perlahan mempunyai laju yang rendah. Suatu jasad yang tidak bergerak mempunyai laju sifar.
• Halaju adalah kuantiti vektor yang merujuk kepada “kadar dimana jasad mengubah kedudukannya”.

• Bayangkan seseorang bergerak dengan cepat – satu langkah ke depan dan satu langlah ke belakang – sentiasa kembali ke kedudukan asal (permulaan).
• Menghasilkan halaju sifar kerana dia sentiasa kembali ke kedudukan asal, gerakan tidak menghasilkan sebarang perubahan kedudukan.
• Oleh kerana halaju didefinisikan sebagai kadar dimana perubahan kedudukan, gerakan ini menghasilkan halaju sifar..
• Jika seseorang dalam gerakan itu mahu memaksimumkan halajunya, maka dia mesti memaksimumkan jumlah sesaran daripada kedudukan asalnya.
• Every step must go into moving that person further from where he/she started. For certain, the person should never change directions and begin to return to where he/she started.
