Kevin’s CornerSTRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE!

KYJO is currently preparing for national accreditation that will distinguish KYJO as an organization committed to quality improvement of all services that focuses on outcomes and consumer satisfaction. As first steps, the team attended the California Alliance of

Child and Family Services 2105 Executive's Conference where we had the opportunity to collaborate with agencies up and down California to share and exchange ideas and solutions for the populations we serve. Here, we were able to learn valuable tools to improve services to enhance our abilities to fulfill the mission and vision of KYJO to create opportunities for a better way of life. We look forward to joining our community agencies by becoming a member of the Alliance family to continue in our commitment in improving the quality of care and services provided to vulnerable children and families. As we prepare for new Legislature to reduce the use of out-of-home care, KYJO will continue its mission "to inspire through the building of trust, mentoring, and creating positive life experiences to develop strong-minded, positive and confident individuals" by continuing to innovate comprehensive services to improve the experience and outcomes for the youth we serve. We look forward to working with our stakeholders and various counties to develop those critical elements to assess needs, provide an array of time-limited quality services with specific consumer care plans, improve access to existing services, and support a life-long connection while transitioning to home-based family care. While we continue to prepare for KYJO's future, we remain grounded by instilling our Core Values in every aspect of our daily operations. Remaining dedicated to those we affect everyday remains our top priority. Through programs that teach life skills, independent living, how to better cope with addiction, how to grow to become a man (or woman), anger management, and how to become accountable for decisions, KYJO offers alternatives to former lifestyles. We focus on strengths and help to actualize and reach realistic everyday and life goals through self reflection and turning failures into successes. KYJO's unwavering fundamental foundation will continue to look the same, as our dedication remains to the health, well-being, and stability of at-risk youth and their families. We will always be working on the best possible, evidence-based, and therapeutic framework to strive towards delivering better outcomes. We can't wait to present our new framework to our community partners, stakeholders, and consumers for a better tomorrow!

The Challenge!Every year at our VTR/KYJO Summer Games we challenge our young men to get out of their comfort zones and do their best. Our challenges go beyond just athletics, we also encourage students to be creative and academically strong. This years events included; Track & Field, Basketball, Swimming, Football, Board Games, Creative Writing Contest, Art Contest, Muscle Man Challenges, etc. We were so proud of all youth and staff that participated. This was our best year ever! We received many great comments from event partners regarding the caliber of our youth and the quality of our staff.

Girl Power!Competition was high during the first day of the women summer games. The residents and staff gave maximum effort and had a great time while doing so. We had some awesome events this year including a Bake Off, Tug-of- War, Basketball, etc . Good job ladies!

CREATIVE ARTS

BAKE CONTEST

Art gives our students an outlet to express themselves creatively!………………………Every year students engage in a friendly art competition that challenges them to take their art to the next level.

A NIGHT TO REMEMBERThis years BIG B.A.N.G. Weekend kicked off with our first annual KYJO CARES GALA. This luxurious evening was held at the beautiful Porsche of Fresno Showroom. Thanks to HT and his (Car Club Name Here) Guest had a great time perusing through our outdoor exotic car exhibit as they gathered towards the entrance. Once inside the first thing they got to experience was our awesome red carpet display complete with paparazzi camera flashes and selfless all around. Attendees also had the chance to experience; Live Jazz, Heavy Horderves, Silent Auction, Digital Photo Gallery, etc.

CHASE YOUR DREAMS“If you can believe it, you can achieve it!” That was the challenge given out to hundreds of kids at this years FREE Believe & Achieve Football Clinic hosted by Robert Golden and Team KYJO. This event is held at the one and only Bulldog Stadium. We want to thank Club Red for partnering with us this year. It’s always exciting to look out and see a army of kids from all walks of life training together at stations across the entire football field learning fundamentals and sportsmanship straight from the pros. Special thanks to Panda Express who fed every child for the second year in a row!

SPECIAL THANKS TO OUR BOARD MEMBERS & KYJO CORE TEAMWe want to personally thank all of our KYJO Board Members and our core team for working so tirelessly on this years BIG B.A.N.G. Weekend Event. People are still talking about the Gala. It’s because of your heart and dedication that hundreds of youth now have the opportunity to reach for their dreams.
