Unit G325: Section B – Critical Perspectives in Media
Thursday 25th April 2013
Why?
Aims & Objectives
AO1
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of media concepts, contexts and critical debates, using terminology appropriately and with accurate and coherent written expression.
• Re-cap prior learning.
• We will look at a 2012 Mark Scheme for Section B to establish what is needed to be successful for this component of the exam.
• You are going to complete a Table that establishes HOW the theory we have covered so far applies to your own Individual Case Study that YOU SHOULD use in the exam.
• This task will require you to complete some research and will be something you need to complete in the lesson as much as possible and in your own time for Revision.
• Review the learning.
WHAT DO YOU ALREADY KNOW?
• Leadbetter (200_) argues that the way we think and make sense of ‘knowledge’ is “fundamentally
shi _ _ _ _ g in the online age”.
• Plunkett (200_ ) – Traditional UK Gate_________ are “ditching” their traditional, old methods and are going
“straight to their audience via the w__”.
Jenkins – (200_) defined convergence as…
the “co-operation between multiple m____ industries” in providing media c_________s with the “kinds of entertainment experiences they want”.
