A powerful advocate of LAAA, Lita Albuquerque – internationally renowned installation, environmental artist, painter and sculptor – is a pioneer in Process Art, Environmental Art and Earth Art and a seminal part of the California Light and Space Movement. In December 2006, Lita led an expedition to the farthest reaches of Antarctica to create the first and largest ephemeral art work on the continent, Stellar Axis: Antarctica. She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards, including the Cairo Biennale Prize and the esteemed Civitella Ranieri Foundation Fellowship in the Visual Arts, Perugia, Italy (2002). Lita’s work is also included in the archives of American Art at the Smithsonian and is collected by prominent museums and foundations, such as MOCA, the Whitney, the Getty Trust and LACMA.

John Baldessari remains one of the most important artists of his generation. He has participated in Documenta (1982, 1978); the Venice Biennale (2003, 1997); and seven Whitney Biennial exhibitions, most recently in 2008. His work has been shown in more than 120 solo exhibitions and 300 group exhibitions. A major retrospective appeared at Tate Modern, London; the Metropolitan Museum of Art,New York; and Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2009–10. John Baldessari was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2007.

While Alexandra Grant’s compelling work has beenexhibited internationally, her celebrated solo exhibition at MOCA fully established her as an important voice incontemporary art. Numerous other shows at museums and galleries have featured Grant’s work, including the 2010California Biennial of Art at the Orange County Museum of Art; the Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv; and Human Nature: Contemporary Art from the Collection at LACMA.This piece Nimbo is characteristic of her investigation andplayfulness with language.

The legendary Ann Hamilton is well known for large-scale multi-media installations, as well as her work in video,sculpture, photography, textile art, and notably her mastery of printmaking. Highlights of Hamilton’s career include her exhibitions at The Musuem of Modern Art , The Guggenheim Museum in New York and MASS MoCA. She hasbeen the recipient of the Heinz Award, United States Artists Fellowship, NEA Visual Arts Fellowship, and the MacArthur Fellows Program “Genius Grant”.

This piece is one of the international treasures secured by Auction Co- Chair and renowned collector Blake Byrne whose respected personal collection includes 6 other pieces by Jan De Maesschalk. The artist’s mastery of rendering and the human form is on full display in this piece. De Maesschalk is represented by the renowned ZenoX Gallery in Antwerp, Belgium, and his work has been exhibited throughout Europe. Keep an eye out for his upcoming show at the Phoenix Art Museum, which will include pieces from Byrne’s collection.

Another emerging artist on a striking trajectory, painter Daniel Monteavaro’s emotive work explores the expressive power of personal and cultural symbols in a series of gorgeously painted and vividly colored multi-media compositions. Three of Dan’s paintings are in the collection of mogul Ron Burkle, and Monteavaro has recently been solicited by Saatchi & Saatchi to create a mural in their offices. Dan’s work was featured at SOHO House in West Hollywood this year and his recent mural in Glendale has garnered much acclaim.

One of the most celebrated celebrity photographers of all time, the late Frank Worth is known for his intimate access to Hollywood’s royalty during its zenith. A remarkable, rare and highly valuable collection of negatives that were accumulated over a period of 60 years was found by his estate in Worth’s home after his passing in 1999. It is hard to overstate the importance of this discovery: “The most extraordinary collection and find of its kind in the last 50 years,” according to a statement made by Christie’s of London in 2002. This extraordinary diamond dust portrait of Marilyn Monroe captures the star at her most vibrant and recently sold at auction in Hong Kong for $7000.

Alvaro Ilizarbe, a Los Angeles-based artist, was born in Lima, Peru. Alvaro moved with his family to Miami, Florida in 1989. Ilizarbe’s work is influenced by pre-Columbian art, textiles, tileable patterns, nature and color. The absence of color in his work is a way of connecting with the viewerin an uninterrupted way. Ilizarbe’s work transform spaces into different dimensions distorting perception and depth of field. Known for his many public artworks, Alvaro’s work has been featured at Martha Otero Gallery.

Brad Howe is a Los Angeles-based artist who has exhibited in over sixteen countries worldwide. His work are in collections in over 32 countries. Brad Howe’s most recent works include a continuing series of monumental sculpture commissions for the City of West Hollywood and Bevery Hills; the City of Los Angeles; M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA; the Georgia International Convention Center; and an 18-foot stainless steel sculpture for a corporate client in Biberach, Germany. He also maintains a schedule of international exhibitions, most recently in France and Germany.

Another young artist on an amazing path, David Jang’s large interactive installation was a highlight of the 2014 LA Art Show this past January at the LA Convention Center. Recently featured on KCET Artbound, David is also the recent recipient of the Fountainhead residency in Miami. This piece Unity was created with crushed soda cans and captures how Jang constructs, modifies, manufactures, and manipulates material into unique new objects with a whole new set of objectives.

Another artist on an accelerating path, J.T. Burke’s unique image style combines original photography with digital manipulation to create new images. Burke is a recovering Catholic who creates scenes of utopian bliss. He collects vintage costume jewelry at swap meets and flea markets, then photographs and digitally constructs them into compositions of Paradise. His work references religious institutions and alludes to Man’s hope for meaning beyond this earthly life. His work has been exhibited in Bristol,England, Barcelona, Spain, New York city and throughout Southern California. Jeffrey Thomas Burke is a graduate of UCLA, and lives and works in South Pasadena, CA.

In addition to his successful solo exhibition at Garboushian Gallery last year, Miguel Osuna has also exhibited internationally at the Museum of Art of Azatlan, Paisaje-Landscape in Mexico and Bornicke Culture Palace in Berlin. Domestically Osuna has exhibited at the Cultural Institute of Mexico in Washington and in museums, such as the Museum of Latin American Art.

Shepard Fairey is a cultural phenomenon and arguably the most recognized contemporary artist of his generation. Fairey is perhaps best known for his OBAMA HOPE image that provided the singular visual narrative to the 2008 presidential campaign.
