EYE WASH FOUNTAIN

Should any chemical splash in your eyes, immediately use a continuous flow of running water to flush your eyes for a period of at least 20 minutes.

CHEMICAL SHOWER

• If corrosive chemicals should contact your exposed skin, wash the affected areas with flowing water for as long as needed to remove the corrosive chemical.

FIRE SAFETY

If hair or clothing should catch fire, DO NOT RUN. Drop to the floor and roll slowly to smother the flame. Use a fire blanket and wrap it around the victim.

FIRST AID KIT

Use the first aid kit provided for cuts, and other minor accidents when needed.Ask the teacher first for needed first aid supplies.

HEATING SOLUTIONS

When heating a flammable liquid, use a hot plate not a flame. Check to make sure the glassware is not cracked or chipped before heating the solution.

USING A BUNSEN BURNER

Make sure the rubber hose is attached firmly to the gas valve. Use a striker after turning on the gas valve to light. Adjust the heighth of the flame with the needle valve. Pin back long hair, and roll up loose sleeves.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER

Point the hose of the extinguisher at the base of the flame. Pull the pin out of the lever, push down, and spray on the flames to extinguish.

BROKEN GLASS
