thousand Eight hundred and thirty Seven Between James Reed agent and atty. in fact
for Alexander Reed of the one part and David Jernigan of the other part Witnesseth
that for and in consideration of the Sum of Sixteen hundred and Eighty three Dollars in
hand paid by the said David Jernigan to the Said James Reed at and before the
dealing and delivering of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged,
hath granted bargained Sold aliened enfeoffed, and confirmed and by these presents
doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff and Confirm unto the Ssaid David Jernigan his
heirs and assigns for ever a piece or parcel of Land two hundred and ten acres and 60
poles being part of Warrant 398 number of Entry 287 whole tract 1097 acres beginning
at a post oak Wiley B. Jones’ N. E. corner, thence East 90 poles to a hickory, thence
South 374 poles to a Stake hickory and black oak pointers, thence W. 90 poles to a
Stake, thence North 374 poles to the beginning, with all and singular the appurtenances
thereunto belonging and in any wise appertaining together with all the Estate, right, title,
interest, Claim, or demand whatsoever of the Said James Reed agent and atty. in fact
for Alexander Reed in and to the said two hundred and ten acres & 60 poles and
premises and all and every or any part thereof, To have and to hold the Said 210 acres
& 60 poles hereby granted bargained and Sold with all and Singular the appurtenances
thereunto appertaining and belonging to David Jernigan his heirs and assigns forever
to the only proper use and behoof of the said David Jernigan his heirs and assigns
forever and the said James Reed Agent and atty. in fact for Alexander Reed for
himself his heirs executors and administrators do hereby covenant and agree to and
with the said David Jernigan that his heirs and administrators will forever warrant and
forever defend the said bargained and sold piece or parcel of Land in fee Simple to be
free and clear from the right title claim or demand of the said James Reed his heirs and
against the claim or demand of all and every person whatsoever, shall and will warrant
and forever defend by these presents . In witness whereof the said James Reed hath
hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above written.
