LANGUAGE ARTS The Lesson Plan Theme: World of Knowledge Topic: My Favourite Fruits Learning Standards: 4.1.1 Able to enjoy action song through non-verbal response. 4.1.2 Able to sing action songs with correct pronunciation, rhythm and intonation. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: i) guess the action mime by chosen pupils. ii) perform the action song using appropriate actions. Cross-curricular elements: Multiple Intelligence –thinking skills, kinaesthetic, creativity Steps: 1. Play a vocabulary game (Guess Me – of simple verb) focusing on common verb in the action songs. Focus on one and two syllable words. 2. Display an action song (with the structure stated in the guidelines below) which incorporates verb in the text. 3. Model the action song a few times and get pupils to sing along in groups. 4. Teacher writes the verb in the action song (such as peel, chop, mix, smash, eat) and pupils try to find the simple past tense of the simple present tense words. 5. Divide pupils into groups and get them to compose a similar action song by change “banana” into other fruits. BANANA SONG all banana in the world, unite, peel banana, peel (2x) banana,(2x)
