In our ArtReach programs, we offer art instruction to individuals who would otherwise have little opportunity to participate in the arts. We serve students with mental and/or physical handicaps, as well as those who are economically disadvantaged. Our programs bring the joy and healing of artistic expression, with comprehensive curriculums addressing the specific needs of students.

We are currently working with New day Adult Care, El Sol Community Resource Center, Jupiter Medical Center, Head Start, Morse Life, Cayuga Centers, as well as numerous local schools and special needs programs.

James Catterall’s analysis of the Department of Education’s NELS:88 database of 25,000 students demonstrates that students with high levels of arts participation outperform “arts-poor” students by virtually every measure.

Our programs at Head Start in Jupiter and West Palm are funded by generous sponsors, who know the importance of art in the lives of youth.

Through this partnership, preschool children who would not otherwise be exposed to the arts, benefit from professional art instruction from our faculty. With a dynamic curriculum, including music and multi-media arts projects, children will enjoy onsite arts programming throughout the school year.

Exposure to the arts at a young age has been proven to benefit children’s success in school, as well as build self-esteem. Our instructors and staff are thrilled to be involved in this inspiring program.

Wish List

In a collaborative effort celebrating the life of Onesimo Marcelino Lopez-Ramos and his Guatemalan heritage, our community created an initiative called One Jupiter. Through the power of art, we share the rich Mayan culture in hopes of bringing respect and unity.

We gathered to paint peace poles, bearing colorful messages of harmony and love. The brightly painted poles are installed in public places throughout Jupiter. The Tibetan Monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery joined us in this universal expression of peace and painted Tibetan symbols of blessings on the poles.

We are grateful to work with the following organizations on this on-going community initiative: One Jupiter, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, El Sol, Guatamalan Tomorrow fund, Jupiter High School and the Town of Jupiter.

The Lighthouse ArtCenter also works with local communities, organizations, health care providers and environmental groups, providing art instruction, inspiration and events participation with local organizations, including: Lost Tree Village, florida Restaurant and Lodging Association, ArtiGras, Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the Benjamin School, Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, Morse Life, Riverbend Park and the Town of Jupiter.

THANK YOU!The positive impact these programs

have had on the individual students and our community is remarkable, and would not be possible without the continued support of our members, donors and grants.
