Preface
The Language Acquisition Unit in Local District 1 has provided samples of CELDT activities in order to assist English learners to prepare for the 2010-2011 CELDT. These activities follow the same procedures as the current CELDT questions and will familiarize students with the task expectations. Most of the elementary Writing –
Short Composition
section samples include additional instructional support activities using Thinking Maps®
that have been created by LAUSD staff. Schools/teachers may want to create additional CELDT-
like activities to expand any section of this CELDT preparation packet.
