Dear Faculty and Staff,
As 2015 comes to a close, let me publicly thank our staff for all the incredible work, dedication and commitment to our students they have exhibited throughout the year. 2015 was an outstanding year of excellence, as displayed by our achievements. MSDLT staff and students have been recognized by countless local and national organizations. The following are just a few of the most recent accomplishments and successes achieved this year:
Lawrence Excellence on Display Congratulations to Jason Williams, Project Lead the Way Teacher of the Year Mr. Williams is a humbled teacher at Fall Creek Valley recognized for teaching Design and Modeling Automation Robotics and Green Architecture. His dedication and hard work was noticed by Project Lead the Way, a National organization who supports STEM curricula K-12. This honor is a reflection of Mr. Williams and our district’s commitment to STEM education.

Dedication/Renaming As Lawrence North High School kicks off its 40th basketball season, Mr. Jack Keefer has served as their only basketball coach. Mr. Jack Keefer has served as a teacher and head basketball coach at Lawrence North High School since its opening in 1976. Mr. Keefer has touched the lives of countless young people and has put the Lawrence North community “on the map.” He has over 700 victories to his credit and his teams have won numerous championships including 4 state titles and 1 national title. The Board of Education has approved the renaming of the gymnasium as the Jack Keefer Gymnasium in his honor. The formal ceremony will take place on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. This great achievement must be celebrated by all. Please join us for this celebration of Coach Keefer. A very special congratulations to the band for placing 14th in the Bands of America Contest. It is quite an honor to be among the top bands in the state. Winter Break Hours The Lawrence Education and Community Center will be open to the public Monday through Wednesday, December 21st - 23rd and December 28th - 30th from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. The district's Welcome Center will be CLOSED Monday through Wednesday, December 21st - 23rd. The Welcome Center will be open to enroll new students Monday through Wednesday, December 28th - 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. We will resume regular hours on Monday, January 4th, 2016.

PREP Parent Engagement Series
February 17th - Travis Brown
Our third Parent and Family Resource Engagement Program of the 2015—2016 school year will be held on February 17th at 6:30 in the Fall Creek Valley auditorium, 9701 East 63rd Street . Our guest speaker will be Travis Brown, anti-bullying speaker and coach.
Key concepts parents will learn:
• The definitions of bully, bullied, bystander,
promoter and Mojo Maker
• The impact parents have on bullying
• Tools to empower students to feel confident enough for success
• Warning signs that your student may be effected by bullying
• How to help your student heal the pain from being bullied or being the bully
• What cyber bullying is and best practices for parents

invited to attend the Indiana STEM symposium to be recognized by Indiana Superintendent of Public
Instruction, Mrs. Glenda Ritz, as an “Indiana STEM Certified School.”

MSDLT Announces Elementary eCoaches
We are proud of our very first elementary eCoaches who will be responsible for the integration of rigorous
curriculum with the efficient, engaging, and innovative use of instructional technology within their buildings.
eCoaches will collaborate with their fellow teachers and PLC teams as we move forward in creating dynamic
student-centered classrooms for 21st century career and college ready students.

LT School Foundation Honor an Educator
The Honor An Educator program is a great way to personally thank the teachers, administrators, coaches, bus drivers and staff members who encourage, influence, and inspire your students to be the best they can be. When you make a gift to the Honor An Educator Fund, we send the recipient a custom designed card with your special sentiment and notify his/her supervisor of the recognition. All proceeds benefit Foundation programs in Lawrence Township Schools that empow-er children to tap into their unlimited potential.

2016 “Light Their Future” Celebration Save the Date - March 11, 2016 Don’t miss out on all the fun this year at the 16th annual “Light Their Future” Celebration. The event will be held at The Crane Bay in Downtown Indianapolis. Inspired by the Big Ten Tournament, this year’s theme is the Big 21, which celebrates the 21 schools in Lawrence Township. Project Search Students greet guests and explain their jobs during their Holiday Open
House. 92% of the students who go through the program are gainfully employed.
Employee Procedures for Inclement Weather
In the event of a two-hour delay or school closing, all 12 month employees are
expected to report for work in a safe and timely manner. If you have questions,
please see your supervisor.
Payroll Reminder
Our normal pay day that would fall on Friday, January 1, 2016, will be paid on Monday, January 4,
2016. As you recall, our budget will not allow us to have more than 26 pays in any calendar year. Paying
on Thursday, December 31st would have resulted in 27 pays in 2015.
CPR Certification Class For Employees
CPR certification training is offered several times throughout the year for those employees who need it for license renewal and anyone interested.
Classes will be held in the PD Room at the LECC, 6501 Sunnyside Road from 4:40 to 7:30 pm.

The LT Schools Health & Wellness Center For MSDLT Employees
Participating In Our Health Care/Insurance Plan
The Health and Wellness Center is for the exclusive use of MSDLT Employees and their
dependents who are covered under the Lawrence Township-sponsored medical plan.
The Center is staffed by a team of health care providers who can evaluate and treat
your entire family for a wide variety of ailments and provide wellness and prevention
information. The Center offers all the services provided in a typical physician office and there is NO office
visit copay. On-site lab services are also offered.
There is No Cost for visiting the Health and Wellness Center.
Some prescription medications are provided at no charge for the initial thirty-day supply.
An on-site health coach is available to provide encouragement and guidance in making healthy lifestyle changes, including smoking cessation, weight management, stress management, exercise, nutrition, and diabetes.
