What’s Uniqueabout CRC?Many higher education consortia exist throughout the country, but few have our combination of institutions: two historically black colleges and universities, two women’s colleges and one public land-grant research university. We all share the same community, contributing significantly to its character and vibrancy and benefitting immensely from its people and resources.

With cooperation we can...keep the city’s best adjunt professors by offering joint appointments and help professional couples find academic positions and commit to this community.

With cooperation we can...work together with the City of Raleigh Planning Department on our common concerns for how our campuses can grow in line with Raleigh’s vision.

Our 40 Years of Cooperation

• Students cross register for courses: Some 400 students a year take a course on another CRC campus.

• Students and faculty share library facilities: Some 800 transactions a year take place.

• Committees meet to share information and solve common problems: Each year eight to 10 committees work together on ideas and projects. See this year’s list on pages 8-9.

• We work together to provide public access education television to our community. See page 11.

Support for CRCCRC is a separate, 501(c)3 nonprofitledbyitsBoardofDirectors and the director they appoint. Its funding comes from membership dues for each campus, the City of Raleigh and the NC Department of Revenue (for the RTN-CRC Education Channel), and a grant from the University of North Carolina General Administration. CRC also receives significant in-kind contributions from Meredith College, which has provided office space and a home base for the organization since its inception.
